It would be interesting to know more about the split of vehicle weight between the batteries and the H2 range extender and the calculations that they have used to arrive at this particular specification. If each energy-storage source is capable of 160 miles range, the unladen vehicle weight is 5.5 tonnes and the payload 2 tonnes, there will be an interesting five-way trade-off between range, load-capacity, battery weight and H2 weight/volume, presumably driven largely by fuel cost. I wonder if they are thinking of offering a flexible design from fully battery/lower load capacity, through to fully H2 with larger load capacity, letting the purchaser design for their own balance of use and estimate of the economics.
