Bananaman, really interesting stuff you have been posting about atomic versus molecular Hydrogen. Can I ask why a molecule of H2 takes up more space than the two H atoms that join to make it? Chemistry was my only "re-sit" at university and even that level of knowledge was a very long time ago, so I am not doubting that what you say is correct. But I would have expected the strength of the covalent bond to bring the two protons closer together than the electron shell of the single Hydrogen atom, making the H2 molecule marginally smaller than the total volume of two the Hydrogen atoms that join to form it. Is it simply that the impact of temperature and pressure then has a greater effect on the molecular form than on the atomic form?

Refhyne II is the follow-on project to the 10 MW Refhyne I, Europe's largest PEM hydrogen electrolyser, which began operations in July this year, with support from the European Commission's Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking Refhyne I uses renewable electricity to produce up to 1,300 tonnes of green hydrogen a year. This will initially be used to produce fuels with lower carbon intensity. The green hydrogen will also be used to help decarbonise other industries. The Rheinland site, near Cologne, is where Shell intends to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using renewable power and biomass in the future.

Paul Bogers, Shell VP Hydrogen, said: "Refhyne II is an important project for Shell as part of our drive towards developing and scaling our green hydrogen capabilities. It will contribute to our efforts to build markets for hydrogen and successively reduce costs, in line with our strategy to help our partners and customers decarbonise and move towards net-zero emissions."

I wonder if Boffin means 18kW Output, which would only equate to about 4.5kW electricity input and might be about the usual size for a reasonably-sized detached property.

It would be interesting to know more about the split of vehicle weight between the batteries and the H2 range extender and the calculations that they have used to arrive at this particular specification. If each energy-storage source is capable of 160 miles range, the unladen vehicle weight is 5.5 tonnes and the payload 2 tonnes, there will be an interesting five-way trade-off between range, load-capacity, battery weight and H2 weight/volume, presumably driven largely by fuel cost. I wonder if they are thinking of offering a flexible design from fully battery/lower load capacity, through to fully H2 with larger load capacity, letting the purchaser design for their own balance of use and estimate of the economics.

Of course there is a world of difference between these simple membranes or fuel cells and a reliable, efficient, long-lasting, stacked product, which is where the guys at AFC come in.

Toneman, my reading of that was that "second half of H2" referred to the second half of the 21/22 financial year, so no change from the previous statement. I often suspect that companies deliberately sow doubt around their use of dates, but in this RNS my thinking was that the context was in terms of "Current Year":

Current Year Guidance
· Core stack module production to be in excess of 55MW
· Completed products volume to be between 33-50MW
· Revenue recognition depends on site access, travel restrictions, and Micro-chip and steel availability
· Revenue will be heavily weighted to H2 2022

Well one thing that is certain is that Osprey will not REPORT a profit in 2021...if for no other reason than its reporting year was extended and is now August 2020 to 31st December 2021, so no report is due within the 2021 calendar year.

I think, though, if you look at the parts of the aviation market that Osprey are active in, you will see that these are not in the areas worst affected by COVID, so the effects of the pandemic might not be as bad as feared.

Jellyroll, unfortunately your suggestion of rolling over any TPG share sale into SAG shares, so as to benefit from SAG's potential value-extraction from the carcase of TPG, doesn't quite work. If SAG managed to extract an additional 50% value from the assets of TPG, then that would only add the equivalent of 10% to the asset value of the combined group. So as a TPG shareholder, I am 5x better-off seeing TPG achieve that increase themselves than I would be if I used the take-over proceeds to buy SAG shares.

Truro, while you are correct about SAG's apparent ability to extract value (at least in the short term) that does TPG shareholders little good if we are simply bought out for cash at today's prices. As you say, the terms of any SAG offer were never confirmed, but I don't think there was ever any suggestion of anything other than a straight cash offer, perhaps at 6.5p.

Personally, I see TPG as having more value than 6.5p, so I would want an offer in the 9p ballpark: as straight cash; a 1 for 50 share offer; or a part/part deal - say 6.5p plus 1 SAG share for every 200 TPG share held. At present there is absolutely no prospect of SAG being interested in doing a deal at that sort of level, so I view them as a risk to my expected future value.

Venue Code suggests these were traded in the Netherlands. Not sure what SINT stands for in the MIC column, I can't find that on the list.

Thanks, that's interesting. And I'm guessing that at 57 and a bit degrees north I probably have more daylight during that March to September period than you might, so I'll look into the options again.

Taskmaster, I do keep shopping around but I am currently on the cheapest tariff available here (just checked again this morning after seeing your post). Electricity prices vary by region in UK and I am in the most expensive area, with the least choice of options. I'm currently paying 18.08p/kWh plus 26.1p/day standing charge. Solar would be good, but house roof doesn't see the sun between October and March!
