Let's say, very conservatively, a three year extension at Segilola. From what we know already, that must be nailed on. Probably more, maybe much more, but three years at least.

That should be plenty of time to allow Douta to be up and running, and the cash is there to meet much of the up-front cost.

So there should be no interruption to gold production.

Hopefully we are now out of the forties, or nearly.

As usual, hard to make sense of the trading here, except that it is still climbing in spite of some big sells recently.

I should say, these targets assume there is no significant civil unrest in Nigeria, which I suppose can never be taken entirely for granted.

I don't know if you have time to read novels, but it might be worth glancing at the latest by Nigerian-American writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Dream Count. It casts an unflattering light on recent economic and political developments in Nigeria (she is of course Ibo, from the former Biafra region). It's a fine book, but she won't win any awards, because you need diplomatic support these days. The Nigerians certainly won't back her, and probably not the Americans either. Anyway it's well worth a read, on a wet weekend when next we get one.
