We were delighted to be able to welcome Claire Mack and the Scottish Renewables team to Highlands and Islands Enterprise’s An Lochran office today in Inverness to co-host a roundtable discussion with key businesses across our renewables supply chain.
It was a great opportunity for our SMEs to discuss some of the familiar and some of the unique challenges that face businesses in the HIE region from Shetland down to Argyll and across offshore wind to solar.
We were also joined by Lisa McDonald of Scottish Government’s Offshore Wind Directorate and Allan Taylor from DESNZ, who were able to give an update on their areas of work so thank you to them both for taking the time to join us today and contributing to the discussion.
A special thanks also to our supply chain businesses AES Solar, Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd, Aurora Energy Services, Harland & Wolff, Proterra Inc, Global Energy Group, JGC Engineering and Technical Services Ltd, Berkshire Engineering Supplies Ltd, Birlinn Tech, Stornoway Port , Storr Access, Hydrasun, West of Orkney Windfarm, Port of Cromarty Firth, Orkney Harbours, Wave Energy Scotland and Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport for making the journey today.
