Sorry Stokey, I don't but interesting that the focus is also on carbon capture which UK gov have announced £20bn UK investment to commercialise opportunity based on expected high carbon prices.
The agreement is designed to support Northern Ireland’s transition to a low carbon future and involves new approaches to hydrogen storage and carbon sequestration. The ultimate goal is to offer constant zero carbon cost-effective energy solutions for homes and businesses across the region.
The scope of the agreement targets the exploration for subsurface resources to develop premium cost-effective energy storage and carbon sequestration assets. dCX and B9 will work with other regional stakeholders such as the “Belfast Power-to-X” Consortium to develop the commercial basis for the development and integration of these Energy Transition assets. Notably, the successful development of such energy storage facilities can support the further deployment of other renewable sources of energy, such as wind and solar, both locally as well as in the “All Ireland Energy” market context.
