Although disappointing, let us not forget that SRA737 has been developed and used in several trials, including combination therapy with effectiveness and relatively better safety. It is SAR's first inhibitor, and it has positive published data with patients. Have a look at PubMed search under SRA737. I wouldn't write off this asset as it has informed the progression to combination therapies. Look at these papers, the scientists involved, and the conflict of interest section.
This is a setback, but we have a developed asset, which perhaps SARs would not have been able to get to this stage without this partnership. Plus, SAR now has the opportunity to negotiate better terms for SRA737. There is a lot to look forward to in 2025.
