If the dividend holds to what they said they would do, this is a great payout at these prices. Guess people are waiting till world stabilizes before jumping in though.
Right now my goal is to hold that psychological 200 line. That would be a win for me.
I think they can muster enough votes without us lowly shareholders. Between management and other big holders, they can make it pass.
I was in before the big crash and held on through that. Then things seemed to recover and was going great and I fully believed it was only going to get better. That was my mistake. Bad news after bad news since the recent high. And I have been going off about the buyback here lately. Such a waste of resources.
I have been on this board for awhile now sporadically posting. Mostly about how I think management will take the company private again at these low stock prices.
No just a long term holder who bet on the wrong horse and having regrets.
A couple of years ago I was fully in and believed we are on the right track. Now not sure at all. Hopefully its just a darkest before the dawn situation but it feels bleek.
Not just the virus ... we have to get those stupid investigations cleared too. and then get through the next global recession. I have to believe China is in a world of pain between the trade war and this virus.
I think its years before we get to the recent highs again. Hard to believe we were at double this price around 2 years ago. I am twisted over it.
We are 3.5 year lows and at half the peak price from around 2 years ago.
Stellar performer!
Investigations, bad earnings report, investments in coal, poor management of money with stock buybacks...
and the hits keep on coming!
Well its tracking at around 203 on US market.
Hope it doesn't go lower. Such a bloodbath. And what happens to the price when the world recession actually comes?
And management wasted so much money on those share buybacks that are so far underwater.
I used to have long term faith in this dog but losing it quickly.
Looks like Glencore is around 203 on US markets. So so Bad.
So low - its carnage. But seems to pay a good percentage dividend at this price. Assuming they don't lower their payout amounts.
At least the dividend did not go down. Would have been nice for it to go up even a little.
No money for buybacks either.. at least for now.
Well Glencore dissapoints yet again. Maybe next year will be our year.
We are only several bad days away from sub 2.
How can this be?? Yes lots of issues going on but it is not as bad as the price reflects.
This things is sale priced for a cheap takeover.
It looks like the SFO was not going to investigate but then new leadership (Lisa Osofsky, a former U.S. prosecutor and FBI legal counsel) decided they would. Seems they will be working close with the US investigation. We need to get all these investigations over and done with.

I have been preaching the taking it private for a while now.
I hope that does not happen as I do think there is long term value here way beyond what they would pay to take it private. I am willing to hold for years provided dividends continue and would hate to see them scoop this up on the cheap while screwing long term holders.
Yea thats what I said below - these drops are likely more than any fine that MIGHT be levied.
They didn't have the funding back in early 2016 to buy it back and debt level was rather high.
Fundamentally things are pretty good with the company.
I have been saying they will take Glencore private for a while now. I believe that more than not but not 100% convinced.
I believe management the company is worth way more and taking it private they can capitalize on that.
They don't have much buyback money left, about $25mill. Current avg price of shares bought back is 264.7. So far underwater on those.
Ok looks like we hit 52 week low. When was the last time we had a one day drop this bad? Awful just awful.
Well the good news is that we are not at the 52 week low. yet.
This has performed so spectaculary bad the last several years and I keep telling myself with each rise, this time its staying up!
