Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
That is weird. It was exciting to see some green there for awhile. Maybe things will turn back around by end of day.
Lets rise again tomorrow!
On the bright side, commodities usually are first to recover after big downturns. That will be good for us. We just have to get past this and then we can move up.
And you haven't exactly been a bright big bowl of cheer lately. and rightly so.
We are in a crisis right now. But this has been hard watching this tumble from the highs not too long ago. I truly believed back then we were going to the moon and firing on all cylinders.
I am not trying to fear monger. I am trying to have a discussion to try and understand what is going on with Glencore specifically.
And I have been on here cheering this on during the good times. But when things are running normally I go for long periods without being on the board.
Once again we are the worst performer out of the lot.
I believe it has to do with the market believes we may not be able to service our debt or only be able to service our debt and have nothing left over. We are nearing the debt crash stock price levels.
I read somewhere that in a week or two, Glencore has to re-up something like $10 billion in credit.
I hope that goes well in this environment. During the debt crash they had banks lined up to help with no problem so hoping for the same.
What a mess!
I needed a day like today! Hoping it sticks!
You sound like me now billy wuth the company taking tnis private.
THey bettter not...id consider it theft at this price!
I still have hope this climbs back and willing to wait it out
So whats the deal billy - do you think I am not a long term holder or something?
I am and will continue to do so.
I know I get negative on here but there's not a lot to be positive about and this company can be frustrating as hell.
I was real positive when we were flying high. Things were looking rosy and I was on here posting against people stating this was going to megadrop with no reasoning.
I didnt say that. I said my avg is around 3 and held through the crash.
This is what I posted.
"I think my average is around 3 but haven't calculated all my purchases. I was in before the big crash and been holding on ever since. Don't want to dump more in. Wish I got out at 4 but things were looking so rosy at that time."
How are we almost at the debt crash levels!!!! I held through that and didn't think I would have to do it again.
This has got to be overdone!!! We are being priced like we are going out of business.
The high dividend % payouts also concerns me for Glencore. Under current conditions I can't see them paying the same dividend for next year that they are paying for this year.
I just hope their debt it under control. I know it went up some according to their last earnings report.
I just keep reading about debt bombs with other companies and it puts me on alert.
And all that money wasted on the buybacks could have been put to better use.
Sad times looking at these target #'s .
I remember when even 280 would have been laughable.
Things are priced like companies will be going out of business. Seems overdone.
For Glencore, this is feeling eerily similar to the debt crash, which was overblown in my opinion.
Remember those heady days of 200? Seems like a distant memory.
This was floated a while back by Paul Gait of Bernstein when prices were much higher. Management could scoop this up for bargain basement prices right now. I would be mad if they took it private at these low prices. They would be stealing from all the long term shareholders.
Could not find original Bernstein post, but here is someones screenshot of it.

This is beyond insane. What is the market telling us about glencore at these prices? that is not going to make any money next year? This price is grim. This is starting to looking like the glencore debt crisis crash again. We are not too far off those prices. disgusted.
Wow setting new lows daily. we have been gutted.
Just posted same news but from Bloomberg.
Good or bad depends on how damning the evidence is.
Hoping if there is a fine it is not a huge amount. The amount this company's market cap got trimmed on days of probe announcements far exceeds any fine ever levied against any company. Billions were taken off market cap based on the probe news.
I was referring to the dividend based on the for next fiscal year, 2020.
I think the dividend committed to at earnings release should be set in stone. Someone on here said once they announce it it doesn't change. So we should be set with $0.20 payouts based on fiscal 2019 year results.
