Loneliness of the long distance investir3 Dec 2020 16:35
I find investing can be lonely; none of my family invest and the few friends who do always advise me to sell and take profits if I’d told them my shares had risen. . If id taken their advice, I’d have made £2000 profit when the price doubled after I first bought at 0.6pp. Instead I held on and bought more.
The trigger for posting now is that the latest rise has given me a £1m profit ( on paper).
It’s the knowledgeable and supportive posters here who have sustained me in this incredible journey. So thanks to them.
In case anyone thinks I’m feeling smug, I got into this share through MTR who were a then shareholder. At the same time as buying here’s, I invested £200,000 in MTR as it seemed the preferable share. I’ve spent the last few years selling MTR at a loss and buying more here. if only I’d invested the £200,000 here ar 0.6 p!
Anyway, the money doesn’t change my life as I’m not interested in cars, boats or other big boys toys.
I live in Thailand, with a delightful Cambodian boyfriend and help him and several very poor families,. I also had six grandchildren and it’s a pleasure to help my kids in these difficult times.
