And any buyer, seeing the ongoing price action, must ask themselves, why buy today when, after each successive buy, a cheaper buy price is available? I know that's why I hesitate to commit more funds here at the moment.

Well I'm as positive as the next person about the portfolio, but as long as we have pressure being exerted on the SP, as it has been for weeks now, we will continue to sink. Nobody knows where the pressure is coming from nor when it will end, just as there is no indication from Fast Forward about who will report news first, what their news will be and when it will come. All in all it's a very frustrating time, and that is what is giving rise to the present friction on this BB.

pretty sanguine; I think all we need is an item or two of news from our major investees, and for it to have a direct impact on our NAV. The present state of AIM does not help us, but given time that too will come around. Looking across my watchlist, there are some bargains - but only if you are prepared to take the risk, and potentially to face a little more downside before reaping rewards.

All well and good, but when people's portfolios are under pressure, these spats invariably break out from time to time, it goes with the territory. When we are on the rise again Doggie's and Chilsworth's thoughts will no doubt turn to cementing their relationship.

Nonsense, Chillpots. Sentiment can turn on a sixpence, and often does. As for stale bulls, they don't signify; with optimism returning, any selling is swept away in a tide of buy orders. Wait till you see daily volumes of 5-10m again.

Anyway, it's good to see you have recovered from your most recent bout of braggadocio.

Glad to hear that you are keeping snug and warm ODONNELLS. We do our best to be on our best behaviour when your visits approach, but sometimes tempers flare and spill over. Perhaps a note to tell us of your impending arrival would help? Be sure to wear something comfy when you do come, and if you are a smoker bring your pipe and a tin of Gold Flake, I find it so contemplative, don't you?

That's a reasonable assessment provided you are confident that at least some of the portfolio will have news in the immediate future, but it's not difficult to imagine a scenario where we have, say, another two or three months wait, during which time MMs continue to gradually drop the SP. In the current situation, in my opinion, each investor must decide for themself how much risk they want to take on, how well they can handle further paper losses if they occur, and how patient they potentially might have to be. Everyone is different in that respect.

Chillipots, don't you understand what's going on here? The market makers have almost total control of this stock at present, in the absence of any significant retail buying. They are maintaining this level and feeding sells if and when they can to counter any retail buying. There is still a possibility they will let it drop suddenly into the 8s, but if it does, I expect the drop to be very brief. If however good news comes first, they will happily feed their remaining stock into the rise. I would strongly advise you do not set yourself up in opposition to them, even you with your millions do not have the firepower.
