Federal Minister for Power Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan on Wednesday said that the government has decided to shift imported coal based plant on Thar coal.
It was decided to create a working group between federal and Sindh Governments to determine modalities of provincialization of Hyderabad and Sukkir Electric Supplies Companies (HESCO- SEPCO), said a press release issued here.
The minister expressed these views in a meeting with Minister of Energy Sindh Imtiaz Sheikh here.
It is very unfortunate that the inability of previous government to even add 1 Megawatt of electricity in the system has pushed the country into this crisis.

The Federal Minister reiterated that Allah has blessed ****stan with Thar coal and we must harness its potential. Reliance on imported fuel for power generation is not sustainable.

Imtiaz Sheikh said that plans to make gas, diesel, and fertilizer from coal would be taken forward under CPEC. Referring to his talks with the Federal Minister for Energy, he hoped that work on all the projects would be started on an emergency basis.

This is really the only comment that needs to be made about today's results.

It is likely we are waiting for the Government to make the big announcement on Thar Block VI and hydrogen - I'm hoping the budget tomorrow is the key to unlocking further big news - today is a buying opportunity - I'm glad they went for the gold opportunity but it is just an added extra to the two big $billion projects in ****stan which will get the go ahead soon.

Yes we wait to see Jundee East results but sensible to focus on the positive and now commercially recoverable gold at Northern Zone while we wait. I think the most likely explanation is they've been told of further delays to the assay results it looks like these Australian labs are backed up and we are a small company and not top priority, even big mining companies are waiting months when it should take weeks.

Yes I agree it's very weird to focus on anything other than the great positive news this morning that Norther Zone has commercially recoverable gold it shows the psychology of some people

They haven't broken any news they just wrote the RNS badly - it says 'at the moment' it just means they're fed up waiting to make a decision and with the continuing appalling delays have opted to push ahead with the positive results they have

I think the RNS is badly worded but I just take it to mean they have not received results from Jundee East and are not expecting them imminently because of the appalling delays so are getting on with what they've already discovered now the commercial viability is established. I expect she will clarify in an interview later

The market is dire at the moment. Bit with Oracle we have three ongoing projects which with one RNS could dramatically transform the company and sentiment will come flooding back - can't say that about many of my other shares ATM. Waiting is frustrating but it will be worth it

I thought the total lack of trades was a bit suspicious, now we see why - there was a huge 20m share order which got filled late yesterday - onwards and upwards!

Energy Minister says the "Indicative Generation Capacity Expansion Plan (IGCEP) is in the process of being revised again for approval from the cabinet owing to a "tremendous" rise in the energy prices since the beginning of this year."
This article is about renewables but the underlying emphasis is on reducing dependence on imported fuels, same Minister also said last week Thar cola can help with this so expect Thar Block VI to be included in the IGCEP soon.
