Either they get a partner for OB1 or its a share buy back. It's 'either/or'. I don't think a potential partner would be very impressed having invested cash in JLP only to then see the company pay out on a share buy back to existing holders. You could argue the two cash pots are separate but the optics don't look good.

More likely to be the purchaser of the South African business closing their "put option" with shares previously acquired to vote through the acquisition. The strike price having been agreed months ago. These shares are now in the hands of speculators in the futures market. I expect a significant fall in share price as this works its way through over the coming weeks.

Can you be more specific on time frame please. Previously the company said drilling was scheduled for Q3 FY2025. The UK financial year begins in April so Q3 is Oct - Dec. However, I believe Australian FY starts 1st July making Q3 at Jan - Mar.

If the purchasing company is revealed on the circular and a quick search on companies house reveals it to be a shell company set up by Slater and other major shareholders, then you can bet the price will drop. Slater has been very quite about this deal, I'd expect very vocal opposition if he wasn't the instigator.

The whole discussion is moot anyway. JLP do not go around making random agreements to sell SA business. Its a done deal already. The BOD and major shareholders have been planning this for many months. Everything is in place to secure the votes required. The reason the circular is taking so long is to mop up any remaining votes required.

The circular will be released once those supporting the SA sale have accumulated sufficient voting shares to pass the motion.

Anyone think the company have too many irons in the fire? We are told the BOD work very hard and clearly feel this entitles them to a high salary to reflect the workload. But are they just busy fools? Looking at OilNovice list of milestones posted at 9:22am this morning; do the BOD seriously expect to address each of these challenging objectives while also finding time to network with institutional and high net worth investors? Is this realistic? What are the synergies between limestone for the cement market and gold at Mbe? The only commonality seems to be the lack of progress. Less is more, divest, rationalise. If a project doesn't make it into your 45 second elevator pitch then its a distraction. I wonder how much effort is spent on projects that a potential high net worth investor really couldn't give a fig about?

I think you underestimate the significance of a bio-derived butyl acrylate monomer. The possibility of developing commercially viable bio-derived styrene, acrylate and methacrylate monomers is what turned me on to this company about five years ago and this is a significant step in that direction. However, the rub is 'commercially viable'. No details on price and I expect progress needs to be made in that direction. Could be some years off but clearly the direction of travel is towards that objective. I'm still not a shareholder but the company has started to look very interesting again.
