My own point, which I have made repeatedly, is to put that very question to HSBC.

I was thinking: the SP went to 12p when investors thought the money was about to arrive.
If it goes to 2p and then it looks as though a new deal is going to be done, and the price returned to 12p, that would give a profit of 500 percent to anyone brave enough to have bought.

And no-one has made any sneering remarks about companies looking at drill sites with no gas in them, in a gas-free area twice the size of Qatar, where only poor deluded souls like you and me believe there is any gas.

Yes, JAdam, everything is looking up - and even one poster's prediction of 20p is an improvement on the 16p and 17p predictions of a couple of years ago.

We feel the same way about HUR, which is now a producer as well as an explorer and is priced by the market at less than 30 percent of its conservatively-valued NAV.

Some months ago, the handful of us regular posters were asking how much lower JOG could go, valued at cash with assets valued at zero. When the price doubled and trebled, there were hundreds of posts per day, mainly by posters who have since disappeared.

That's how fickle AIM is.

You guys have obviously been invested for longer than I have and know more about the company.

When I said I doubt whether there is anything wrong with it, I meant its assets and prospects.

'total manipulation' just about sums up AIM.

My advice, if you want to buy and hold until a takeover, is to buy at totally-unimaginably low prices.

The share price has been falling ever since the moratorium was lifted and has now fallen by fifty per cent since then and by 55 percent since the pre-lifting peak was reached.
It seems to fall gradually on any rally, which suggests manipulation, as with HUR.
It seems that someone is doing his best to encourage investors to bail out, as there is obviously 'something wrong' with the share.
There is, but I doubt whether there is anything wrong with the company.

We've had posters expressing more than scepticism that there is any gas in TE-5 or that the marketing process is genuine or that there are any interested parties.

I wouldn't be surprised if, following announcement of a deal, the share price reaction were muted, posters would express scepticism, possibly even bailing out, then big investors piled in and the share price appreciated further, possibly followed by a counter-bid, followed by cursing by investors who had given up - especially the posters who sold at about 8p.

Taking into account the increased 'risks' - accompanied by 'exit strategies' - that come with every success, meaning - horror of horrors - that HUR might have to 'go it alone,' we must all pray that the present drill is a failure.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but it seems we lose either way: if the drill fails, the price drops by 33 percent and if it succeeds, that's even worse.

Careful with your language, thestreet - Biffa might read that and take offence.

But I agree with you that it's amazing that all the good news is always 'in the price' and bad news is always anticipated.

It would take some magic to beguile HSBC into believing that the sources of the money are legitimate.

The answer must be that HSBC has unanswered questions about exactly where the money came from and if those questions were capable of being answered to HSBC's satisfaction, they would have been answered by now.

I take 'it' to mean that we will know by the end of the year whether the BOD recommend a bid to shareholders and, if so, the terms of the bid.

Maybe I should have just re-posted my post with the correct order of paragraphs:

If they are requesting certain information and APEC cannot provide it, what is the point of leaving the payment in the system?
If APEC have told HSBC they will provide it, how long is HSBC prepared to wait?
