Can you believe that it's the same Jamie Ashcroft who recently wrote that terrible article about HUR?

Admittedly, the first article was written before the Warwick West 'duster,' and before JA realized that HUR 'is based on a partially unproven, or at least, debatable concept,' that the EPS is 'essentially a pilot or long-term test production scheme,'
that after halving in value, its capitalisation would become 'a handsome valuation,' comparing unfavourably with debt-laden PMO and TLW, and before someone informed him of 'the financing risk [and] notable exploration and executive risk' and that HUR might become 'the next Sirius Minerals.'
Fair enough?

Hurricane Energy PLC (LON:HUR) shares advanced in Thursday’s early deals thanks to positive well results from the Greater Warwick Area.
The British offshore oiler this morning revealed that the Lincoln Crestal well had flowed at rates of up to 9,800 barrels of oil per day in testing.
The well is now being suspended with the intention that it will be used in the future for production.
A tie-back to Lancaster’s Aoka Mizu FPSO – floating production, storage and offloading – vessel is now planned during 2020 subject to further work, regulatory consent and financing.
Hurricane chief executive Robert Trice, in a statement, said: "We are delighted with the results of the Lincoln Crestal well”.
“We have confirmed the presence of light oil which can be produced at commercial rates.
“The Lincoln Crestal well is now planned to be tied back to the Aoka Mizu FPSO next year. This would make Lincoln the second producing basement field in the UK.
"Based on the result of the 2016 Lincoln well, RPS Energy assigned 2C contingent resources of 604 million barrels of oil equivalent to Lincoln. This successful result brings us closer to monetising this huge resource."
Hurricane shares rose by 4.13p or 9.12% to trade at 49.43p.

Analyst reaction
Tim Hurst-Brown, analyst at Mirabaud, in a note described a “solid” well result.
Elsewhere, oil companies expert Malcolm Graham Wood, in his daily blog, said it was a “cracking discovery”.
“This is another excellent result for Hurricane, it is another commercial discovery and will be tied back to the Aoka Mizu,” he highlighted.

I don't know why you refer to Tymers in the third person, as though you and he are two different people, but what you have written is untrue.

Tymers did not say 'some of the sells are spreadbets closing ,' as you claim.

I reported accurately what you said about the spread bets, yet you accuse me of being a liar, although on this occasion you haven't accused me of being a troll.

The problem is that 'those who post lies or misleading posts' could be rampers or derampers, whereas argus1 and most regular posters here will never apply that standard to rampers.

Today, Tymers claimed that the tens of millions of shares sold today were just spread bets being closed, without producing any evidence.
Isn't that misleading?

Also today, Hollybean announced that the downtrend had ended and we would be heading north to 2p 'very soon' - just two trading days after the shares reached a new five-year low, and just 0.125p off that low.

She herself had written on the day the SP hit a new low (last Friday):

It amounts to a disclaimer by DSPP that if anyone is foolish enough to believe his gobbledygook and sell their HUR shares on the strength of it, they have only themselves to blame, as RT is the acknowledged expert and DSPP is spouting nonsense.

That's a typical LSE AIM comment.
HUR is at a discount of 81 percent to its NAV and on a prospective P/E ratio of 2.
It is producing 20,000 bopd.
Instead of thinking the share price is ridiculously cheap, you think there is something wrong with the company.

I prefer your inflection point of 20.5p to your support level of 18p, George.
Buys outnumber sells by 3-1.
If enough people believe the price can't go below 20p, it won't

I disagree, because it has become obvious that the SP slump has to do with a mass panic triggered by an article and online comments about water cuts.

The slump has been going on for a long time - months - and cannot be the result of 'most objective observers probably starting to consider' something now.

I don't recall a previous share price slump being caused by a spontaneous mass acceptance of an unproven theory.

I can't find it online, but I remember reading about it at the time - maybe in the 1990s.
Parisians were dumping their pet cats on hearing that cats can get FIV (true), and that humans can thereby catch HIV or AIDS from cats (untrue).

It reminds me of the Great Cat Massacre of the 1730s in Paris, in which cats were hanged after being found guilty of practising witchcraft, but I think I will leave it at that, as I have already been ticked off for talking about UKOG.

Basically, the share price collapse has been fuelled by ignorance, rather like people burning witches or blaming Jews for the Black Death, or Parisians dumping their cats because they thought they might be carrying HIV (if I'm remembering correctly).

Unfortunately, ignorance is fuel for the manipulators' bonfires.

Google is showing a (presumably closing) share price of 2.9p on 17 January.

My recollection is of a high of 3.00p bid and 3.20p offer on the same day.

According to LSE, the 52-week low was on 10 December.

I just checked the Google graph, Ammu.

It took them 12 days to get the SP down from 46 to 30.
After a further 54 days, they have almost got it down from 30 to 20.
It looks as though they are running out of rope.
Let's hope they have just enough left with which to hang themselves.

I think the water conspiracy theory has already lost many of its believers and will come to be seen as increasingly discredited as RNS follows RNS and declared revenue increases.
