I was surprised to see that Linn is totally lacking in self-importance - an encouraging sign.

All I will say is that although buying low does not guarantee one will not lose one's investment, on AIM buying high is a fast route to a paper loss.

and the recovery rates have gradually been improving, to 52.5 percent worldwide and 59 percent in China, although Italy is lagging behind.
I expect these percentages steadily to improve.
If I'm right, and OPEC cuts production, the oil price should stay above $50.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't be surprised if that's more than you paid for the vehicle itself!

I and some other posters have been following the 'after-hours' trades for some time, mcadder, and there did use to be a regular net buy of a million or more shares, but forgive my scepticism about today's buys.
First, why would anyone buy 25 lots of 20,471 shares?
Secondly, did the same person make the purchase of 20,714 shares?
Thirdly, is he dyslexic as well as incredibly forgetful (unlike Double and me, who are occasionally absent-minded - a classic mark of genius)?

There definitely does seem to be a tendency for AIM oil company shares to converge to 1p, Tacoma.

I wouldn't be surprised to read in time that the Coronavirus didn't dampen demand for oil as much as had been expected.

The HUR SP rose 660 percent in little more than a year in 2016-2017, and by about 170 percent in less than 10 months between December 2017 and 21 September 2018.

a rise of 660 percent would take the SP to 111, which is only just above Edison last NAV estimate - hardly demanding.

MATHEMATICAL POLICE ALERT

This is to notify you of a correction to the calculation in the previous post:

( 15 x 1.2) + 1.2 = 16 x 1.2 = 19.2

That's an increase of almost 1500 percent, JA, as
( 15 x 1.2) + 1 = 16 x 1.2 = 19.2

Although I have said that I don't believe the price has been manipulated downwards in preparation for a bid, I do think it possible that some time after the price has made a new high, and the oil price is strong again, a bidding war could erupt.
There would then be no way that manipulators could stop the price from soaring, and if they tried, they would be wiped out.
I know that other old-timers here will remember the scramble to buy here, in July 2016, at around 20p.
The price was on its way from 8.85 to 67.5.
We thought it was cheap then, even though we didn't know that HUR would become a producer, eyeing 40 kbopd in 2022.
Were we really suffering from a delusion then?

Markets have always overshot in both directions and always will.
There are many cases in which people have convinced themselves that prices would never recover, but been proven wrong.

The latest figures indicate a recovery rate of more than 50 percent worldwide, but 55 percent in China.
I suppose the difference is due to the fact that patients in China have had longer to recover.
I think that the recovery percentages will improve further and progressively.
