If PVR were left with 40 percent of that, that would be worth more than �4 per share. Even if you valued it at �2 per barrel, it's worth 40 p per share, and that doesn't take account of the extra barrels waiting to be confirmed. If Newgrange or Avalon were successful too, the share price could be in pounds, not pence. And before anyone accuses me of ramping, everything depends on this company actually getting a first deal. Otherwise, it will just be more jam tomorrow.

Possibly not very much, because no-one believes in the company - in which case, it would be a terrific bargain. If PVR could retain a substantial interest in the actual profits, it could make the equivalent of its current market capitalisation every year.

Isn't it amazing, though, that TOR has such impeccable timing? Somehow, most of his farm-out negotiations have to take place after an oil price slump, and now - with the end in sight - the possibility of a ban on drilling. Maybe it's just bad luck.

It seems that without a deal being announced, the retracement will continue. If the deal falls though, we could be back at 6 or 7 p. If PVR then drilled Barryroe alone, what are the chances of clinching a deal afterwards?

I kept quiet, but I didn't believe all the predictions here of daily rises and a rapid move to 20 p. We went through that last year and I said then that the price would not breach 20 unless news justified it.

Yes, Longfell. For the same reasons as yours, I decided to get back into PVR, but not LOGP. Now, however, it seems nothing is going to happen with Avalon. Or have I missed something?

I thought of buying UKOG months ago, when I first heard good things about it and it had fallen from 3.3 to 2.8 or 2.9. I kicked myself when it reached 11, but it seems people have been taking profits ever since. I would not consider buying it in preference to JOG, which is obviously undervalued.

I would not worry, unless you are over-extended. AIM trashes the share prices of quality companies, which is why there are such bargains to be had. One has to buy, hold, and buy more on price weakness. It is impossible to predict when the price will rocket.

As I've been invested in HUR for considerably longer than in JOG, what you say is familiar to me, except for the speculation that Halifax could be much bigger than Lancaster (assuming you are talking about bboe recoverable.)

Am I right in thinking that, unlike with Verbier, we don't have any firm indication as to what is in Cortina or Meribel?
