Thanks for that link, Anovas. According to my calculation, South Dunquin, if successfully developed, could be worth about �1 per share to PVR. Considering there are also prospects at Newgrange and Avalon, as well as the possibility of more oil below Barryroe, it seems that the shares are one of the most undervalued in the sector.

I'm not sure, Seer, that Lebanon and Syria have been 'neutralised,' or even that their governments are independent. Lebanon has long been under the domination of Syria and Hezbollah, and the Syria regime is under Iranian domination. One thing is clear: the Israelis, backed by the Americans, are pushing their luck as they have already called Russia's bluff successfully.

It is a not very-well known fact that the Golan is partitioned between Syria and Israel, which is why I wrote 'Israeli Golan.' Historically, the Israeli Golan is part of Palestine, not Syria.

I have just read that the Quds force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Syria have just fired missiles at the Israeli Golan, that Hezbollah - which is devoted to the late Ayatollah Khomeini - is the winner of the Lebanese general election and that the Iranian-armed Houthis have just fired missiles at the Saudi capital. I don't see how you can deny that Iran is the problem.

I've been bullish for a long time too! I know the opinion about $100 is a little out-of-date, but I mention it as a cautionary example of how to treat 'expert' opinion. Only months ago, 'expert' posters were predicting Brent at $40 and HUR at 16 or 17 p!

I share Sonofthebull, WT and Genghis' optimism and wish I'd bought more for 24.5 p. I think most posters have underestimated the potential here, being guided more by the share price history than the company's prospects. One poster was doubtful the SP could breach 40; several have taken it as an axiom that any rise must be followed by a sharp correction; others have predicted a sharp correction in the event that the SP reaches 67 again. What if the price sails past 67?

It is correct. Unlike some other posters, I am not in the least surprised. In fact, with Brent reaching 75 (not 40, as predicted by LSE's resident know-alls) I would have expected the SP to be higher still (not 16 or 17, as predicted by know-alls here who seem to have disappeared).

As I've said before, I doubt whether there will ever be a bid for the whole company. The company's assets are so huge and widespread that I would expect parts to be sold off and proceeds used to develop other parts. As for RB and CA selling into rallies, that can hold the price back only for so long. It has no bearing on the level of any bid for any of HUR's assets. Judging by the question RB asked RT about Lincoln, it seems he is not expecting a bid for the whole company, either.

Aren't you forgetting something, Shedful? HUR expect the initial 17k barrels to become 30k within six months.

I reckon the Maersk deal is roughly equivalent to �2.50 per HUR share, before dilution, but its for one bboe 2P/2C. HUR can surely do better than that!

Goldman Sachs hold 30,000,000? I've got 30,000. That's more than four times what I originally bought at about �1.40 per share (before bailing out at about �0.80).

Then presumably you would agree with me that a bid for the whole company is most unlikely and, furthermore, that the lack of such a bid should not be a matter of regret for shareholders.
