Assets of the bank are part of what the market values the bank at. When an asset (cash) leaves the bank by way of a dividend the asset value drops.

The market values Lloyds at about 50p. It would not now have a valuation any higher if assets had left the business in May 2020 - use your head.

don't know about that. I have had PB's from a very young age when you could buy £5 worth.
it was at 1% also in 2009.

The PRA have had no bearing - the market gives a valuation - which is not based purely on dividends - if that were the case Lloyds would not have been in the 80's paying no dividend

could do with an increase in the PB rate - to get more than the usual £25's or £50's

no you have converted your cash into a stake in a business , where some of the profits are returned to shareholders, either in cash form, or by increasing the percentage of the business that you own.

you shouldn't be complaining if you dividend yield is far higher than cash returns.
Those not wanting to risk the stock market are virtually getting no income at all with cash.
As for the share price - that is the risk that is taken when seeking greater returns than cash.

The total dividend you will have received for 2021 is 2p per share - the same as every other shareholder.

I topped up on HFEL on 24th Feb at 283p - an income of about 8%

you know the dividend amount- you know the policy -you have a sell button.
