How much out of profits then do you think should be invested to boost the earnings made for each share?

There is a new CEO.
They have a re based progressive dividend policy, maybe based on a percentage range from profits, and they appear to have a policy of buybacks whilst the share price is at low levels.
Obviously a buyback would be dependent also on not finding an alternative investment to boost earnings per share.

if you are a shareholder you should know these things

it would be the same as I keep saying - purchasing and retaining shares for use in schemes, but as I have also already said Lloyds do not have a policy to retain shares in treasury

I would be happy with that - it should always be the minimum no matter what the share price.
So for me the status quo wouldn't be meaningless.

if the lost money was in fact 2.24p then the other 1p is part of the 1.33p being paid in May

Do you think bonus shares are dished out on a daily basis.
Lloyds do not have a policy of buying and retaining shares in treasury - been through it so many times.

A buyback isn't a necessity for the market at some time in the future to value Lloyds at 70p per share, but it would be a helping hand to get there sooner than otherwise would have been the case.

The share price/Lloyds market cap is determined by the market on a continual basis.
currently the market thinks that Lloyds is worth 3.3p per share more than less than 24 hours ago.

why would that be - are you confused?
Did you not know that large corporations have staff share schemes, some of which are part of a remuneration package when someone signs a job contract?

You must learn to know about these things before investing. if you do not like bank employee packages then maybe you should find an alternative home for your money.

well whatever you want to call it - assets if you like.
If lloyds spent £50 million purchasing shares in the market to give to employees
, that is £50 million of assets gone from the business, reducing the assets per share.
So no real benefit compared with creating new shares instead . Both reduce value per share.
