the statement from 67s I am sure was related to buybacks not Lloyds specifically.
A company could undertake a buyback without increasing the dividend.
Lloyds have a progressive dividend policy and therefore until that policy changes investors should expect increases in dividend whether there are share buybacks or no share buybacks

There is nothing to think through - HFEL have been investing for income for quite a number of years now. I cannot be clearer .

What do you think they are doing?

I sold some of my 'excess' shares today. The share price would have to retreat quite a bit (10% +) from the current level for me to have an interest in purchasing back the same amount.
So tomorrows price level is immaterial to me - still holding a lot for further upward moves in the future.

I hold Rio at a very low average price.
Lgen is a relatively new investment for me (about 4 years) my personal yield about 8%.
DEC - most people would be treading water in the last couple of years on capital value.
The better investment would have been in a proper energy company like BP or SHELL both of which I hold at low averages.

Need some more money set aside and I would rather it be on the more over-the-top side so that write backs may be a possibility following.
Also would be good to keep the share price at a good level for the 2023 buyback, and OTT provisions may help

I pointed out what the American president and the Nato boss said about protecting every inch of Nato soil.
I said, what is NATO for if it did not respond to a Russian attack.
The response from them was that it was most likely an air defence missile.

How long will it take for you to realise that distorting what was said doesn't look good.
Had an inch of Nato territory been attacked by Russia and Nato got directly involved in war against Russia, it would be over in weeks.
I hope it sinks in this time.
