I would not have thought that a buyback programme would significantly impact the daily average volume levels.
Have you not been following events in the last 6 months that have given the market the jitters?.
The market is currently valuing Lloyds at under £27 Billion. The share price will rise when the market thinks Lloyds is worth more, whether or not a buyback programme is in operation.

the reality is that Lloyds is trading at a little under 42p but as someone who doesn't live in a world of reality, it is understandable that in your world that Lloyds is at 39.5p.
