Who and why would a stock be sold down to levels that suddenly change it into a 'known bargain'?

Known bargain by whom?

Once again, the market can take any stock to any valuation level it wants . It is for an investor to determine whether in their view it is under or over valued. It happens every day - an exchange of shares between buyers a sellers .I determined that in my opinion that BLND had gone to bargain levels in September - was it suddenly a 'known bargain' ?. I bought a lot - it went a bit lower - I bought another lot on the same day. Today I sold some of those shares from those purchases, and not because I think they are overvalued (obviously).

Just another example of the market getting it 'wrong' in the opinion of this investor

Just to add, I have had months of abuse on the MET1 board simply stating FACTS trying to save people from losing a lot of money - again lots of abuse - most not interested. Result a share price retreating from a high of 55p to the current 3.7p.

It is only now that some acknowledge that they have been scammed.

The market gets valuations 'wrong' (wrong being someone's opinion) for a variety of reasons.

It is up to an investor to determine if in their opinion a stock is correctly valued or not.

It is clear that the market has finally woken up , now determining that Lloyds deserves a much higher valuation.

I said when at the 40p level, that I didn't care how low the market took the share price with the same fundamentals because as well as making the buybacks great, I would have bought more and more as I did so previously to under 24p.

I also said that the share price would reach 70p and a £1 at some point - again I got LOADS of abuse, this time for opinions

At the point of formation of LBG - from my previous Halifax and Lloyds tsb investments, I had an average price in triple digits.

If it only from rights/open offers and large purchases in addition at low prices that massively reduced the average cost per share. That was the springboard of being able to sell at much higher prices near to the 2015 peak of a little over 89p, to then at that stage to have a very low average price.

Yet again for about the 300th time - a share buyback has nothing to do with what the market values Lloyds bank at.

The market values Lloyds each day with the share price going in either direction with or without a percentage of shares being bought each day coming for a certain source.

If the market once again valued Lloyds at the heights of 2015, then a further increase in price per share of about 13p + would be required.

Lloyds had already bought back about 12.4 Billion shares and cancelled them by the start of 2024.

Despite this the price per share was around the 40p + mark in early 2024.

The share price has been rising primarily as a result of years of undervaluation and the forward looking profitability.

I stated many many times at the 40p + level what the forward returns would be for investors investing at those levels - obviously I got a lot of abuse from the likes of BLB and a few others - they have since kept quiet in more recent times

Met1 gambled £1 million on CTL and other amounts on other companies that make up Met1 investment company.

Gamblers buying Met1 shares would have to pay over twice the amount to acquire the amounts gambled in the underlying companies. Why do think that paying over twice the value is cheap. How much do you think that gamblers should pay for each £1 of underlying company assets?.

Met1 investment company is currently trading at over a 100% premium

Still need a 15% + increase in valuation to reach all time high market cap levels
