an rns is issued for each days investment in Vodafone's shares - looking like a better priced investment available today. Far more beneficial for a re rate on an upside valuation in the Vodafone business to wait until after the conclusion of the 4 Billion Euro investment.

Maybe I will get another chance to replicate my under 65p purchase in February, but obviously not too fussed with plenty of shares to offload on the upside in any case. Staying under 100p per share for the period of the buyback programmes would do just fine.

I was linking what an investor may think about valuation, with at the same time moaning about buybacks - easy enough for all but the most stupid to understand.

If anyone thinks that Vodafone is overvalued then they should not buy or sell if already a shareholder.

If anyone thinks that Vodafone's value is low and can see considerable upside in the coming years, should not be be moaning about 4 Billion Euro being invested in Vodafone at those such low valuations.

Yes, it is called an investment on behalf of shareholders, currently being conducted at very low valuations as measured against book value, and at the same time reducing balance sheet liabilities

I would rather a low valuation whist shares are being invested in - common sense. Trouble is too many people do not look at the longer term picture benefits.

You will find that most of the money from asset sales went towards debt.

It is pointless investors saying things like ' i would much rather' when it comes to money invested in a companies shares rather than used alternatively. It is what shareholders in companies that have buyback programmes would have voted for, and a vote should be respected.

I think you will find that virtually all the votes from shareholders to give approval for buybacks, were in favour- that answers your enquiry. With a reduced share capital, this helps with eps growth ,which in turn supports a dividend distribution and attractiveness of an investment.

Quantitative easing which increases money supply was started following the world financial crisis . In a low rate ,low inflationary environment it helps to support the economy. This continued during the worse period of the world pandemic. Coming out of the world pandemic was the trigger for inflationary pressures due to supply chain issues etc. The reverse of QE , quantitative tightening was started in 2022.

Your dumbness has no limits it seems. A shareholder will own a larger percentage of the business with a reduction in share capital. What reduced market cap FFS??. The market determines the market cap valuation on a daily basis, which currently is about the same as I had already said in march 2024 when the share price was below 70p.

Yes he doesn't seem to realise that buybacks reduce liabilities on the balance sheet by the same amount. Share capital is a liability on the balance sheet, buybacks are reducing share capital on a daily basis. Maybe he would like something a bit simpler. If 4 Billion was spent redeeming 4 Billion worth of the bonds that would reduce liabilities by 4 Billion.
