I had a very short term hiatus from NEX, but bought back in because I didn't want to miss out on tomorrow . From what I understand traders closed their books over Christmas and they are reopening tomorrow so they missed the AZ Vaccine boost that the market should have seen and instead the price was moved down by the negative short term feeling amongst private investors.

Institutional Investors are generally looking towards the medium to long term and the vaccine will give them huge confidence that in 12 months their investment will have grown considerably. I may have jumped back in too soon, only tomorrow will tell, but I really didn't want to miss out and have the price runaway from me first thing when the market opens.

Sorry, just to be clear I wasn't suggesting what I have done is right. In fact, looking at this morning I could have sold for more than I did so it was definitely the wrong move. I was just posting to let you know in case I was missed and to thank people for their advice.

I lost my bottle last week and sold out at 245. Despite the Brexit positivity other news seemed negative so I took the profits before they melted away again. I planned to buy back in, but it seems to have risen away from me this morning.

Well done to everyone who held, hopefully that boost will help your Christmas credit card bills and will see you into a wonderful start to the New Year.

I want to come back in so hopefully I'll be back here soon. Thank you all for your help, I've done pretty well from this despite being sat on a huge loss at one point and we all know long term this will be successful. Stay healthy and hopefully I'll be back on in the New Year.

I heard many ii's closed their books at the end of last week. Maybe it's some if those pension funds that cashed out recently?

Seems my question has been answered, wow what a day. I don't know why this rise is happening as all the doom and gloom is still about, but I like it. I just hope they don't catch us out by the price plummeting all of a sudden like Monday morning. I'm always sceptical when things seem unfounded, unless there's news coming perhaps?

Is the book still posititive? I just wondered if the boxing day lockdown rumours have dampened the enthusiasm or whether we should expect another good day

We've really brushed off all this negativity, it could easily have dropped back below 200 on fears of the unknown new strain alone, but we're holding a high base. This could really test new highs on the next bit of good news now.

We dropped to 208 at the last results which were really positive and had a similar bounce, this news is genuinely bad yet the reaction is the same.

No deal Brexit
New strain of virus
Tighter lockdowns
Global transport ban

Bundle them all together and you get the same reaction. The good thing is that it's out of the way now, onwards and upwards once again

Seems the US is feeling the love for us though. We'll be green by close at this rate.

It's probably because Boris said he's 'hoping to avoid another lockdown'. Given past promises and hopes I can understand why people are sceptical. It would probably have been better if he just didn't comment
