It just doesn't make sense. If this is going to 10 bag in 5 years, why would holders sell and let it drop to half the current price (thus making it a 20 bag).

Also if it's going to 10 bag in 5 years, why would private equity who have a much longer term view than a lot of PIs not jump in here.

It's not surprising when you have Unite turning down increases of 14% even though inflation is currently around 10% The companies can't just absorb the costs and it therefore gets passed onto consumers thus driving further inflation.

This is still such tiny volumes Noggers. Less than 600k. When it was over 120 earlier today the volume was at about 450k so this has been dropped back on a total trade of 150k.

The 5p theory would only really apply if this was perfectly priced and its share price reflected the exact value. I've seen shares rise from their previous close even when they've gone ex-divi in the past.

It's in the RNS from yesterday. Small reduction in their holding.

Maybe they blindly follow Liberum.

They haven't dropped it, they have reduced and still have a considerable holding. Could be they just needed some liquidity with the recent market turmoil a bit like after the mini budget.

Thanks Peaky, it does make sense. Though they'll now also be liable for the dividend payment too if they don't close in time for the ex divi date won't they?

Peaky, you're wiser on shorts than I am. How do you think they get out from here given the low daily volumes and a minimum of 15m shares needing to be bought back? They're obviously going to want to maximize their profits in the same way longs would want to sell out at the top

Thanks Jamrock, as I said, no need to apologise. You were only sharing what your friend had said. It was his opinion and proved wrong, just the same as my opinion that the price I purchased at in September was a bargain has proved wrong too.

Just to be clear. I'm not saying you should apologise, but I'm just saying that everyone here is sharing their opinion. Some will be proved right, others won't.

I wasn't one of those who criticised Peaky, but if you recall you told us all this last week and I haven't seen an apology for that:

Ian that was the awarded shares and the sell was automatic to cover tax etc. There was an RNS on Friday.

At some point the shorts will need to close their positions and that is at least 15m shares which need to be bought back. The drop from 140 to here has been caused by the trading (buys and sells) of less than 15m shares.

This morning's drop alone has been caused by less than 400k. If only we could get some surprise good news to spook them into rushing to buy back.

Paddy, to put this morning's drop to 114 ish into perspective. It has happened having traded less than your holding. Out of a total of 600m shares in issue this is incredible.

I could be wrong, but I actually don't think either have had a huge effect here. The volumes on those days are similar to all the other short attacks we've seen and although they've been successful in tanking the prices, they aren't noteworthy and don't show general panic given that we have 600m shares in issue.

That being said, it does suck to realise how much lower I could have bought in here though.
