Just a thought, possibly some of the resistance is because tomorrow is the last day for FTSE 250 tracker funds to sell down before we move to the FTSE small cap. Therefore we could see less resistance and a further spike on Monday as FTSE small cap tracker funds buy.
I assume that's how it works?
Looks like morningstar have updated today and they indicate that they will drop their "fair price" here by low teens percentage. The current fair price is £33 (not a typo) and so that makes the price here anything between £27 and £30 per share.
This is up to date taking the capital raise into account etc. It also says it doesn't foresee any liquidity issues.
At least them increasing the short position helps us to understand the drop as there's no logic to it. Obviously they partnered up with a broker to tank the price and are determined to try and get it as close as possible to that price.
Have you doubled down already? Seems they are determined to work to get this lower which is incredible. There are companies losing money and they decide this is a viable target. The CEO must have lost over £150k already
I stupidly got in on Monday expecting having been watching for ages and waiting for the right time. I thought that would be my last chance and the takeover news would to continue to boost the price as the story unfolded, yet despite all the negative posts here I'm actually considering doubling down before results.
I can't see how they would have reiterated guidance 1 week before the end of the quarter, only to let the side down now. Shorts closing, Mike Ashley buying and no major holders selling (of which that accounts for 80% of the entire shares in issue) all add to this belief.
The only thing that's holding me back is that I'd need to sell other stocks that are currently sat in a loss making position and if I'm honest, I'm not sure I've got the balls to do it.
There's a maximum of 20% in that category (and will be considerably less as there are private investors as well as institutions below the reportable levels). I know that's still a lot, but given the volumes that have been traded recently it must be running out.
