Sorry, I'm pretty naive to this company and have been doing some research today. I keep hearing about the Cineplex fine, but I'm reading as of last week that the company and CEO were found guilty by an Israeli court over a 2010 merger deal. Both are set to be fined in October. I'm not seeing many people talk about this (unless I'm missing it?), the CEO got a suspended sentence!
The balance sheet is unhealthy, to say the least (Net cash of -4.8bn from FY21 results). The Cineplex fine was damaging but probably manageable. But now with this new verdict how do they cope with the seemingly endless litigation?
Not an attack, just a naive view on the subject of looking for help. thanks
There is yet another "meme film" trending everywhere at the moment. The new trend is for people to get really dressed up and watch the new Minions film. I keep seeing it everywhere, very large groups going to the cinema to watch the film.
Just a month or so after the Morbius trend blew up. Of course, Top Gun was a massive success too.
I wonder how much this is driving sales, it must have some material impact surely.
COVID does seem to be back, I know 3 people right now with what they are calling 'chest infections' which is very unusual for the summer months.
I believe with this acquisition 888 now complete it is the 3rd biggest in terms of market share, behind FLTR & ENT now.
Great acquisition, great management. The deal went through flawlessly & all funding was secured. Now to absorb their talent & tech, utilise their brand and start streamlining their business whilst integrating with 888 existing infrastructure!
We may even finish green today! :o

Also announced today: "William Hill CEO Ulrik Bengtsson Steps Down Ahead of Sale to 888 Holdings". Looks like the final parts of the acquisition are now in motion, William Hill Intl. will be an 888 company in two days time.

Depressing performance here. Only positive I can take is that I've learned a lot. This was one of my first 'proper' investments and made a list of mistakes. I'll hold for now, but not holding my hopes for anything any time soon.
Maybe the market expected better HY results? Which doesn't make sense when the company gave guidelines and are set to meet those guidelines. Silly price action today IMHO. Hope it stays this cheap tomorrow so I can top up!
Think this is the cause of the rise? Google showing 23.08% increase
Key line from the RNS for me was: "Willian Hill's revenues in the 26 weeks to 28 June are expected to be between £620m and £630m". I completely disagree with the negative aura surrounding this acquisition.
This should put the doubts about the acquisition well and truly to bed. 888 can take the talent, brand & tech from William Hill assets to enhance their existing products. Scale down any failing brick & mortar bookies and reinvest back into the ones that are profitable.
Lots of people seem to have written off the brick & mortar bookies here, but my question is why? Every town high street I go to there is at least 3 different brands. Driving around my own town it's hard to find a newsagent that doesn't have a bookies next to it or around the corner. I'm not doubting there are many that are redundant and the business can be streamlined... but this acquisition gives 888 the perfect opportunity to assess this and make necessary changes in the future.
I believe 22nd was said to be the date acquisition would be complete. Doesn't really matter if its today or next week... just wondering do you think we'll get an RNS once it is complete?
I think the WH Acquisition is a very smart move for 888 and hopefully, they are prepared to do more in the future. Should only help to close the gap that's getting increasingly narrower between 888 and the big leagues in ENT and FLTR
From my analysis and the general consensus of other actual professional analysts I wouldn't be shocked if this had potential to reach £7 (around £3.2bn MCAP).
But we are in extraordinary market turmoil right now, so it will be a difficult task to get there. But if any player in this sector has the potential for SP growth right now its £888 who have been doing the most expansion and entering new markets.
Another major red flag I can think of is the imminent release of the Government paper on Gambling.
Where can I find the analysis showing forecasts of 0.072?
Keeping a close eye on the Trustpilot site to see if any mention of the new products come up. Yet to see one from my last check
this is how two positive results in two separate clinical trials for two different medicines, right?
Agreed it's looking good. I'm still a newb to mining world.. what sort of news would be most likely to come next? (regardless of timeframe)
p.s. I'm excited to buy the Vitamins & Minerals test. It's something that interests me, but £54 is making me think twice about buying it straight away today. £30 (as was previously hinted at) and it would have been an absolute yes. Hopefully prices can come down once the business continues to scale up. Particularly for something as seemingly mundane as vitamins & minerals (although I'd argue is one of their most useful kits on sale right now)
As would I Maninpink. It's even more frustrating that this was launched after one of the worst days in global markets in years.
But we must look on the positives. New website is launched. New backend is now probably live. New products are selling (if their ticker is to be trusted!). More products, better products in the pipeline. MHC can no longer be defined as a COVID play.
These products should be in retailers. Boots, Lloyds, Supermarkets even Amazon! It's something I asked Penny about in the last investor call and she rather confidently said that MHC can sell these without the retail connections and that their initial focus was not retail stores. I hope she proves my doubts wrong.
I'd love to know the marketing strategy here. If anyone see's an MHC ad please shout about it on here. I'm hoping that new products won't be so delayed & slow to release as these initial ones were. The infrastructure is surely all there now...
I will be buying the Vitamins & Minerals DNA test sometime soon! Shame that the prices arent the previous £30 floated but £54 is still decent enough.. maybe prices can come down once sales start flowing & wider range on the shelves
