Cobus Loots, CEO of Pan African Resources, on delivering sector-leading returns for shareholders. Watch the video here.
Welcome KG. So once all the pension funds are out we’re quids in?
On the face of it it looks like good value, and I made the mistake of buying in at 75 as I thought the news on Middle Eastern VIP accounts sounded overdone and thought there was a decent chance of a quick bounce. After further research I got out within a week and was lucky to take 69. I’m telling myself it’s a lesson, I should know better. 2b in debt, constant fines, incoming regulations in the face of do much problem gambling, and a million miles behind entain and flutter. I fully expect to see Will Hills windows boarded up within two years. But I small gamble might pay off against the odds ;-)
The scheme is subsidised by government. The longer it runs the better in my opinion, as it continues to assist in the post covid recovery any getting more people on buses.
Thanks for the insight TopTurnipPicker. I’ll buy all the way down :-)
I think you’re right. Owning this stock is more damaging to wealth than using their shops.
It looks to me like a potential obligation to buy 4.7% however I feel RNS’s are made intentionally difficult to understand for an enthusiastic amateur such as myself! I’m deep in the FCA handbook trying to get my head round it. If someone knows what this actually means I’d really appreciate some schooling! However if JP Morgan are in for 30m shares that may explain the recent price point! Apologies if I’m well off here.
There’s nowhere to hide currently. I’d rather park it here than in cash but may end up being proved wrong. I have a couple of worries re NEX, debt and roll out of high speed rail in ESP but on the whole it’s a great company. The tin foil hat in me thinks recent inflation results show the BoE raising rates is having little effect on inflation and the high rates will end up crashing the economy, all while high inflation rages on. Once the penny drops they’ll move it back down over 2-3 emergency meetings, however if they turn out to be genius’s that provide a soft landing, 2-3 years I still think we’re sitting on 100% from here!
Even then it may not have too much of an impact
Hahaha innit. As I’m buying long term here I hope he’s right but imagine missing out on the upside here cos you **** the bed preying for a further 15% downside while already clearly in bargain territory.
I've not been keeping an eye on this recently, I've been far too busy losing money elsewhere! Can someone explain what the heck is going on, why are volumes so low?
This is starting to look ominous now. Good luck gents, I’ve a feeling you’ll need it.
Value is obvious here imo, however I have a feeling we’ll be in the duldrums until August, once the half year is out. Needs to demonstrate reduced leverage and a reliable dividend and we’ll hit the jackpot. It’s a decent opportunity and I’ll certainly continue regular top ups under 150
Buy more shares in NEX and take the bus! ;-)
Tend to agree, I think a change in policy from central banks is almost a certain at some point so I’m not overly worried by the debt on the balance. A buy back makes more sense than the divi to me…
They’re professionals, but I still feel like they got lucky. I read the report and they didn’t mention Credit Suisse lol
I completely agree JG. At times like this investing in a solid company providing essential services at a 52 week low seems like a decent bet… however this hasn’t really work that way with this one.
I’ve just had a brief glimpse at your chat history. You’re in some right dodgy companys like 888 but your opening gambit in NEX is that holders are about to lose their shirts! What’s the reasoning for that conclusion?
It will probably be market wide tbf…. Especially bad for those long in banks and SAGA though :-)
I don’t know enough about it and I can’t seem to find the information I’m after. I think somebody had previously mentioned avoiding the SP for a while, having a pint and waiting for it to all blow over. Solid advise.
GL I’m pretty sure where at the bottom as Friday would have been a great time to take it down again while everything around it was falling. But hey who knows, what I will say is I’m convinced we’ll see 120 to 260 over the next few years. There’s a l chance of seeing 120 to 110 over the next few days but I don’t try time these things.
