I got this link from ODX board admittedly but should hold relevance ref Innova tests and other companies not up to scratch in the diagnostics sector. Roll on NCYT LFT launch:)
One thing I have picked up on here in the RNS is the fact that Graham knows that future expansion will not be reliant on Covid products and his team are looking at non Covid progress . The R&D will continue with Covid related technology but branching out into other areas. I suspect the goal now with the lookout for bolt on aquisition will be expansion into diagnostics into new areas with potential growth. This I think was hinted by addressing unmet needs such as sepsis, pathogen resistance and transplants thus diversifying the portfolio.
The LFT products are on the cusp of launch and will also add considerable income.
I think Dr Cave is commissioning three masts in Liverpool for this bigger boat that’s supposed to be launched. Just hope old Trevor is not the one flinging the champagne bottle and we have a new CEO to bless the boat and steer it in the right direction. Steer a heading of due north please helmsman, make haste, winter is around the corner:)
Question will be asked when British LFT will be used!!

Let’s hope we get to know the answer.
@Dave77, we are at a stage now that we can provide the amount of tests that are required for distribution from U.K. manufacturers.
Innova have been given a two month extension which should never have happened quite frankly. Part of the reason for the large rise in covid cases is the inaccuracies of the Innova test along with the fact, not all the population has had both vaccinations as yet. It’s causing huge problems, the biggest being not learning and controlling our borders from the Indian variant. We do not seem to learn and as a consequence health and business suffers further.
In the future I hope to see hard fast border control policies to protect us from other variants developing overseas. The more the virus is allowed to spread, the higher the chance of mutations developing.
Testing at this point in time needs a more methodical approach using also app technology to monitor and control.
Most importantly bad testing may be worse than no testing so we need to get the British tests out en mass at the earliest opportunity and bin the Innova tests as not fit for purpose according to the FDA.
I concur ref conservatives especially after the Cummings leaks. Read them on Instagram.
Omega are ready, the government should now get those accurate tests out imminently or we will be possibly bogged down with more uncertainty.
So the conservatives are well and truly going to be in the public eye this time. It’s about time after the Randox scandal and now the stonewalling of British companies. It’s not good for the SP short term, however it’s good the public will learn about the Innova scandal and an array of other issues. Then we will see rises in the SP. Up to now the government have not been accountable for anything. Is it time that they were? This could get very messy for Bojo.
Well Dr Cave did once say we need a bigger boat, ones with lots of masts on it then;)
Love to see the papers run this in a column next to G7 news. Could be very embarrassing for the government if this gets out to the masses. People using and relying heavily on these Innova tests have a right to know this information.
Appologies, just posted as soon as I saw it not realising it’s up here. Very interesting times ahead I’m thinking like many on this board I’m sure.
This is from the FDA ref Innova LFT test.

The Delta variant is a warning to us. If we don’t sort our act out now with border control and a substantially orchestrated effective and organised track and trace system. The next variant may be a lot more harmful, vaccinated or not!!
Border control has a way to go before it’s in a position to stop entry to new variants. One poor example so far is giving travellers a few days notice before they have to quarantine after a certain date. I’m afraid the virus doesn’t follow the same delay process, effectively allowing it in to spread further.
Kaeren is right, proactive and not reactive is key to this with vaccination programmes and testing.
Once the government realise that only gold standard testing in all areas is the ONLY way we as a nation may take back control of the virus before it continues to control us.
When a virus is allowed to spread it is given a passport to mutate. No one wants to go through the alphabet on variants akin to storms. We cannot change the weather but we can can change the path of variants by tracking with good tests and a rigid and an effective isolation to combat.
Definitely up for a whisky tour after this roller coaster ride. Once we get back to the 8+ numbers then a wee dram here and there is something I certainly look forward to.
@ Tomozulu, I’m not sure about an outcome ref China although in time more evidence may materialise to ascertain true origin.
Ref we are not the same as NZ, Aus etc does not mean we cannot learn from it!! Regards demographics I would say the higher the population the more reason to keep a virus out?
If we could be in a position of only a few cases there would still be required a methodical test track and trace system. I don’t think we are at that point yet!!!
We need to learn that an alert of rises in a foreign land it’s better to keep the fire out than let it in and have to firefight. Utilising methodical prevention measures by methodical, fast and reliable testing is the only solution. Variants will mutate where transmission rates are high. If we continue without drastic change in a very well organised and orchestrated approach we will continue with uncertainty when now we have the technology at hand to defeat its travel. Testing is the only way to combat dangerous mutations until vaccines really catch up!!
@Tomozulu, I have had the same suspicions and feelings ref your last post, however a conspiracy theory can only become fact with evidence beyond doubt. NZ, Australia and a few other countries did a fantastic job at border control. We found that far too difficult. Controlling borders is not our strongest subject, so we all had to lock down instead.
However going to war is our strongest subject and fear after lockdowns the last thing we want is to push a sleeping tiger hard into a corner without real evidence.
To add, not to be completely critical, the government did a great job ref vaccines. Really great job but to not throw all that good work away letting variants rip and supersede the vaccine tolerance then testing has to be now done in a more organised manor and not a trumpeting firefight. It must also be done in wider target areas in higher numbers. I think my worry is that if we become complacent due to lower death rates eventually a variant will once again change the pattern.
