LordAdam Thanks for your answer. I am selling some RDSB, and hoping to get back in after the exdiv. That is only my trading pot, of 4000 shares, the remainder I will have the income off. I have sold 2000 shares so far. I too look at the yield when making decision to sell, historically my income is 10.36% on my initial investment. As I sell off that will increase. The bulk of my holdings is RDSB around 90% at the present moment. I measure my success or failure against 1. Income 2. The value of my investments However I do trade frequently, so trying to scalp a profit wherever possible.

LordAdam, So what do you use as a level of dividend for RDSB, as due to the varying amounts paid due to the currency fluctuations. It must be hitting 5% yield now or thereabouts.

Smart Meters, I was one of the very first to have these installed, I think it was around 2008. I was with eon at the time. They worked great, HOWEVER, when I switched supplier they were rendered useless, as they were not universal, each supplier had their own system. I have changed suppliers several times since, and still have to provide meter readings. The point is, they were rushed through without any thought. I will not have any smart meters fitted, unless they are universal, as like other consumers, I will look for energy prices which suit my needs. No I am not a customer of Centrica.

This will rise for the dividend ex date. I am happy to take the dividends, the capital gains can come later. All my shares are paid for, so no sleepless nights.
