Powerhouse Energy stock has long been one of many hydrogen-related stocks that received little attention in the markets. On Friday, the title shot suddenly on the radar of the stock exchange traders after the partner Hydrogen Utopia was able to announce a collaboration with Linde Engineering.

Over the next five years, the Powerhouse technology, which produces hydrogen from waste incineration, is to be further developed and expanded. This ensures considerable income in the long term, even if the corporations involved have remained silent about financial details.

Even without such minor details, the report is sufficient for the shareholders to move the Powerhouse Energy share massively northwards. Friday brought gains of over 30 percent and for the first time since the beginning of September led the courses back above the 0.07 euro mark.

Should Investors Sell Right Now? Or is it worth joining Powerhouse Energy?

That could finally be the turning point in the downward trend of the current year, which had temporarily halved the market value. The bulls will still have to prove in the coming week that they can defend the price gains from Friday or, in the best case, build on them. It's just as possible that profit-taking could dampen sentiment again.

If the bulls stay on the ball, the all-time high of EUR 0.14 could soon be within reach again. Even if that would currently correspond to a doubling of the exchange rate, there would be little or nothing in the way of such an increase north of 0.08 euros.

So we can only hope that the news will continue to be positive and that the mood in the hydrogen sector will not subside either. Then the Powerhouse Energy share should show an impressive development on the floor by the end of the year. Anyone who can live with the unquestionably existing risks keeps an eye on the whole thing and is also allowed to think about getting started.

Powerhouse Energy technology to clean plastic across Europe under a £ 1 billion contract for a British company | City and business | finances

In an agreement signed at COP26 yesterday evening, Linde agreed to work with London-listed Powerhouse Energy and its EU partner Hydrogen Utopia (HUI) to leverage its technology that turns plastics into hydrogen. Linde will provide exclusive processing services for hydrogen produced at HUI plants across Europe for the next five years. A number of factories are already being planned. The first is to be opened in Konin in Poland at the end of next year, and in Bulgaria and Greece. Plants are also planned in Great Britain, with the first plant in the North West being opened in two years, followed by a plant in Scotland. In total, the plans are to create at least 500 jobs in 50 plants.

The group trades slightly below Numis Securities’ discounted cash-flow valuation of 269p a share. Mr Lipski predicts that Velocys will secure another four favourable investment decisions prior to first production at Oklahoma. We view that as wholly realistic, particularly as the successful exploitation of biomass sources should open-up additional demand in the UK and Europe. We upgrade to buy.

AIM-quoted Velocys (VLS:AIM) has a technology which can turn neglected and sub-commercial deposits of gas into much more valuable liquid fuels. News (29 Jul) that a final investment decision (FID) has been made to build the first commercial gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant using its technology is yet to be reflected in the share price and with updates on other projects in the offing the shares could move closer to Macquarie’s base case valuation of 376p.

According to Velocys, Bayou Fuels will focus on processing waste from the lumber and paper industries, which it describes as “woody biomass forest residue that would otherwise rot on the forest floor or contribute to forest fires.”

Carbon capture and storage technology will be used at the project to allow for what Velocys calls “the commercial-scale production of SAF with an extremely negative carbon intensity.”
