Obviously, those LTH’s with large numbers of followers, don’t publish their intentions before they sell so as not to drive the price down, because the idea of their efforts is to make money.

BBN is unusual in that he admits to his followers that he’s sold after the event, most LTH’s publish there buys, but don’t ever publish their sells. That’s why you should do your own thing and not rely on the LTH’s which are always boasting of their buys.

We should soon see BMN publishing the latest top ten holder listings and know if all the recent large sells were actually Duferco reducing as claimed … or if it’s just been the LTH/Traders p & d crew, rinsing and repeating.

@ BenAlder, S.A may well be considered a safe place to source from. The question is if the grade quality of BMN’s pile waste material is of sufficient quality to make it a financially viable proposition for anyone to buy, ship and transport it … and then process it for industrial use.

Up to now, and despite the price of iron oar going astronomically high last year after the Brazil shutdown no- one seemed to show any interest in negotiating an off-take agreement.

Maybe it’s really just a pile of waste crap and no good for man nor beast?

Yer, now estimated to be over a a billion tonnes, but is that stockpile of waste iron material contain a suitable grade that makes it a financially feasible operation to load it, transport it and ship it overseas …. and then use it in their steel foundries?

VRFB-H Investment - Extension of Notice Period

Mustang Energy PLC (the "Mustang" or "Company"), the special purpose acquisition company, provides the following update on its investment in VRFB Holdings Limited ("VRFB-H").

To allow for finalisation of negotiations and documentation between Bushveld Minerals Limited ("Bushveld"), Mustang and the holders of US$8,000,000 Convertible Loan Notes ("CLNs") Bushveld and Mustang have agreed on an extension of the notice period for Mustang to issue notice in respect of the backstop as announced on 19 January 2022, until close of business on Thursday, 17 March 2022.

The Company will provide further updates in due course.

It seems to have been forgotten that that 2018 spike was seriously helped by Golden Summit buying in and thoughts that would be the start of further large fund managers soon to be following behind, also drive on by the, as then, unknown effects that the new stringent China rebar regs we’re going to have on the steel market, It wasn’t by any means, all about the V price.

As long as the V price consolidates around the current level then it’ll be more than good enough for BMN without all the hype and expectations that V has to be continuously showing an upward trajectory every day in order to drive the sp up.

Achieving some stability at these levels is now more important Imo.

@Pat48, it’ll probably now be around double that figure to establish a completely new mining operation and Vanadium processing facility for Mokopane … one for the future imo. Justification for capex of that order has to be clear cut. VRFB tech has to unconditionally prove that it’s going to be a major player on the global storage energy scene before Mokopane is developed.
Only then will it be worthwhile digging the V at Mokopane out of the ground.

Imo, tis why the market currently sees no value in the sp for Mokopane.

China aims to “fundamentally” solve the shortage issue in steelmaking ingredients in 10-15 years, Luo Tiejun, the vice-chairman of the China Iron and Steel Association, was quoted as saying, citing what he called a “cornerstone plan”.

The plan, which the steel body said in January it had submitted to the state planner, industry ministry, natural resources ministry and environmental regulator, was designed to secure steel resources in the medium- to long-term.

It proposes raising China’s share of overseas iron ore production from 120 million tonnes in 2020 to 220 million tonnes by 2025, according to Luo. It aims to boost domestic iron ore output by 100 million tonnes to 370 million tonnes and steel scrap consumption by 70 million tonnes to 300 million tonnes over the same period.

“The exploration of domestic iron ore raised in the cornerstone plan not only involves resources but also competitiveness,” said Luo, adding that some iron ore concentrate costs in China had been kept under $60 per tonne.

@Jamiejojo, my understanding is, there doesn’t necessarily have to a notification until the entirety of a larger disposal in blocks of shares have been completed. And even then it can take time before we get the report of the disposal.

Backstop arrangements for the Investment in Mustang Energy PLC

Primorus Investments plc (AIM: PRIM) provides an update in relation to its investment in Mustang Energy PLC ("MUST").

Further to the options set out within the RNS issued on the 19 January 2022, Primorus has, today, requested MUST to issue the requisite notice to Bushveld Minerals PLC ("BMN") to enact the Backstop arrangements, under which BMN will, at its election, either repay to Primorus the outstanding CLN plus accrued interest or enter into a CLN with Primorus.

Primorus will provide a further update when BMN chooses which settlement option, referred to in the 19 January RNS, to pursue.

Of course not Daisydog they are traders, most LTH are very professional traders. Very, very few are amateurs who restrict themselves to just holding out in hope for better times. The one defining aspect of a trader is they will never advocate selling before they have sold. Those traders that are also LTH’s very rarely admit they have effected a sale, EVEN after the event. BBN is one of those rare traders that have done that. The name of the game of the vast majority of LTH/traders is no different to anyone else’s, it’s to increase personal wealth by making money.out of shares, and if a LTH/trader can do that by gaining a large following of disciples using lots of research and persuading them to buy … it can be the means to a very, VERY, lucrative end! Simples! It’s not a problem as long as you understand the name of the game.

The California Energy Commission (CEC) announced a USD 20m program earlier this year, to fund research projects for vanadium flow batteries (VFBs).

Of the eight awards, Invinity Energy Systems plc (IES:AIM), a UK based VFB producer, obtained funding for four projects to deliver 7.8 megawatt-hours (MWh) of batteries.
IES was created in April 2020 through a merger between two flow battery industry majors (redTenergy plc and Avalon Battery Corporation).

VFBs are developed for long-duration energy storage requirements, 10+ hours, for stationary applications (i.e. energy networks) and can last 10-20 years.

Lithium-ion batteries are too costly to recycle for most applications, VFBs do not suffer the same problem.

The $45 so- called sweet spot’ is rather meaningless because it’s now well out of date! At the time it was mentioned it was reckoned to be a good balance when taking everything (including production costs and projected capacity way back when!) into consideration.
It was supposedly based on suppling the new and upcoming battery market together with continuing to supply our established steel market. Perhaps time now to think about considering a ‘new’ sweet spot?

I doubt they’ll be back. They have zero history of being a pro- active shorter and like many funds simply use shorting as a hedge. Nothing personal or anti BMN. It’s likely they have determined that as BMN is now widely expected to be back on the rise, it will no longer fulfil that function … and have simply moved this allocation into a stock that may provide them with a better safety net.

BMN’s actual guaranteed right to supply Vanadium to IES is a 2 yr agreement, Isn’t April this year the second anniversary?

The big question though is if this deal can provide further proof (beyond the Oxford hybrid project) that leasing electrolyte through the joint partnership of VERL is looking like it has the good commercially viable future we all hope is going to make the cost difference that allows VRFB’s to gain more traction in energy storage projects.

Also interesting that Elemental have ….. “over 700 MW of further projects under development”

Construction on the project site is expected to commence in H1 2022. The Invinity system will comprise 38 Invinity VS3 flow batteries plus ancillary components. The project is expected to be commissioned in late 2022.

The Chappice Lake project will be owned and operated by Elemental Energy, a Vancouver-based private renewable energy development company with over 100 MW of wind, solar and hydro projects in construction or operation and over 700 MW of further projects under development.

Good for IES and would also be good to know if this order has V supply implications for BMN the also if it’s leasing deal through the joint VERL company. That possibility maybe what’s behind the current upward sp drift back towards the top of its recent trading range.
