Tullow have had their fair share of dusters Foresight, good 3D or not, just like most other oilers. Many small oilers have gone down the raising route to fund big drills and many of them are now trading in fractions of a penny. I am not in this in the hope that the SP might run up a penny or three prior to drilling and then have to sell out most of my holding to de-risk what might turn out to be a duster.
My transformational deal as you call it, but actually what the company said they are looking at, is a producing asset covered mostly by debt that is going to provide income from which the company can use to fund other drills and use as an asset to attract other assets. Look at what happened to SQZ. They went down your route for years with little success before taking on a producing asset and hey-presto they are now worth £350m.
The company has always alluded to farming down Jamaica to fund it. If it is as good as you say it won't be a problem but don't expect it anytime soon, Tullow are too busy elsewhere.
