The guarantors (Germany and France) both stated the Minsk was actually a delay tactic to arm and train the Ukrainians army and neo-Na2is in Donbas for war with Russia or the break away Ukrainians living in Donbas. Russia is going to pivot and sell it's gas to China (power of Siberia 1 & 2) and Türkiye (TurkStream).

As a interim solution Europe is buying it's gas\oil from USA and India at 4x the price which it brought from Russia. India has plenty of processed gas\ oil reserves and Russia is happy to supply it to India so India can supply it to Europe as to not hurt Europe's national pride of allegedly sanctioning Russia.

In the future, most of the cheap pipeline oil and gas needs will for Europe come from Türkiye which Türkiye will source from Russia. Ukraine will lose out big time on transit fees and Europe will get cheap gas and oil again but minus Türkiye transit fees.
