ll, russia like any country see it as a game of risk where you don't want your enemies neighbouring so close and especially when your neighbour is no longer independent since 2014 and stringed along by usa from the 2014 coup d'état. neutral independent states do exist and good neighbours are possible in this world yet having a third person or usa in the equation is never good. for example, i bet most men hate having their mother-in-laws stay under the same roof as it does breed toxicity into the harmony between two married couples. just google the surveys conduct pre 2014 and 2024, most ukrainians back in pre 2014 over 80% treated russia as brothers \ allies of the same slavic race and wanted cultural and economic connection with russia whilst post 2014 ukrainians have been brainwashed to hate russians by the dreaded mother-in-law (nato and us) on the pretext that joining the eu and nato is the golden ticket.
this is what the dreaded mother-in-law can do to change ukrainian society for the younger generation. the west would never accept this in their country, yet more than happy to fund the groups to breed hate in a foreign country and in this case to hate and fight anything connected to russia.

tuzla island is part of crimea island and hence crimea was signed over to russia to use in the partition treaty and russian–ukrainian friendship treaty in 1997. therefore, 1997 is before 2003 and probably not forced or taken by russia. only when the 2014 coup d'état happen in ukraine did russia or putin decided to annex crimea and then later in crimea the people decided to vote and join russia. independence if you believe in it or freedom by the right of self-determination by it's people, yet its natural for any country to hate regions of the own country to get splintered off. look at catalonia and spain, kosovo and serbia, punjab (khalistan) region and india, taiwan and china, hk sar and china. baluchistan and ****stan... etc. i see western hypocrites flip-flopping around where if its a benefit to the west then its okay to fund and see a region splinter from the country otherwise if it's goes against the west interest, then they do everything to fund support to stop it. hence the so call rules based international order of the west where the west are always right and never wrong and international united nation law is trash upon at will in their eyes.
