CH is exposing himself to a lynching if he does not have strong material news before the 27th - and he knows that the only news we want is the award of the permits or a takeover offer at many multiples of the current SP.

As I raised earlier, CH has to be confident of permits granted before the 27th or he is exposing himself to a ginormous dressing down on the 27th - he would have done it on the phone with pre-checked questions like last year (?) otherwise.

So CH presumably expects to have the permits before the 27 February - otherwise, he is arranging his own lynching with this shareholders’ (and new investors?!) event...

Human Rights law is very different kettle of fish, and it would be before a different court part of a different system: the European Court of Human Rights, following the rules called the European Convention of Human Rights, within the system of the Council of Europe (totally separate from the EU).

You could sue an individual country that has ratified the ECHR.

But unless you can give us details of that banking case, I doubt that breach of any human rights could be claimed here... but I'm not an human rights lawyer I must admit!

Aphorisms don't make the law in developed, or even semi-developed, countries. Furthermore, if you had bothered reading what was written just 1-3 posts down, you would have seen that I had talked about the catastrophic impact on Slovenia's reputation that such a legal action would have. Even if if Ascent were not successful (and I still think it would be successful), the damage to Slovenia would be irreparable IMO.

The Court of Justice of the EU, yes. There could also be options to use international arbitration options as well.

It's the catastrophic impact on the reputation of Slovenia (both its administration and its courts) that makes this potential case interesting.

I have not done any of the number crunching for the extent of the damages, but any material costs (e.g. equipment to keep things going longer, or additional costs to resubmit the applications) are reasonable.

We'll see at the next publication of figures what those numbers are.

John B's presence would point towards going for a JV, but let's wait for those permits to land first!

I do suspect (with no more knowledge than what's been publicly shared) that a buy-out offer will materialise within days of the award of the permits - if we are to believe that the strategic review was real, several parties already have all the data, no more due diligence should be needed.
