Charlie. I've been investing and trading on AIM for over 20 years. Unless theres some transformational news (like a offer or acquisition) then it's always better to either hedge or sell through the news event. Take what we've just had. Strong change in declared numbers. The market. Yes. I'll give you 5%. Pointless.

One of the major things I've noticed is that there is never any point in holding shares through a news event. You can always buy in volume the day news comes out or shortly thereafter. Why take the risk... I sold a few this week, and I have got them back today for less than a penny more and no risk involved. Gotta love AIM!

Just listened to the results presentation. I'm really pleased to have secured this CEO. Never heard him speak, but he seems like a real oil and gas guy who will work hard on discipline on the capex side. It's interesting to hear what they plan to do with drones and robots to handle the inspection side going forward. Vietnam also seems closer than we think, and it seems they have regulatory approval already [a fact I was unaware of].

The point about the direction was interesting, he said they had raised some things that they weren't doing/hadn't thought of - including third-party inspections. I wonder if this is general best practice or a JSE-specific instruction.
