Good morning Harry. Just a fine tune to my last blog. The scalping on forex is restricted only to the EUR/$. This is because the spread is very low usually 0.8 or 1. I use interactive investor spread betting platform or capital spreads for this. IG has superior charting facilities but their spread is 2. Ideally one should have at least two screens or dual monitors to be able to view the charts although with windows it is possible to have more than one open at a time. I also use scalping on the ftse 100 as spread is 1 but don't trade between 9pm and 8am as spreads widen to 5 pips meaning to open a £100 position one is already losing £500. Not to be recommended to newbies. Don't try doing it live until one has practiced it to perfection on the demo platform which one should always treat as if it were a live platform and that you are really winning or losing whatever. So many traders use the demo as a game but when it comes to actually winning or losing on the live platform the whole pshycology changes and the emotions of fear and greed creep in. Many times I have been practicing on the demo when the wife comes in and distracts me. On forex things can change very rapidly so no distractions whatsoever if scalping on the live platform.Shut oneself off mobile off wife told to keep out. Even scalping, although doing it on the hoof, still requires a plan before deciding to trade. I judge the trading range of the ftse or euro and wait for the reversals for going long and short to pick up a few pips but sometimes one can hit the jackpot and make much more if one lets it run. My view however is if I can make £500 a day I am happy with that. that equates to £2,500 a week and £100k a year. Would you be happy with that? Many times in the past I have made good money in the morning only to continue during the day and lose it all and some. My advice for what it's worth is after 2 consecutive losing trades for the day quit. There will be countless opportunities the next day. Having got one winning trade that has made say only £300 on the day but has taken a few hours to make quit. It's still not bad that's £1,500 a week and £75k a year. Would you be happy with that?

Good evening Tommytink. I looked at the 1 hr chart but was busy on my accountancy work so missed the optimum time to get in but figured it was worth the risk. INTRADAY i use the monthly and weekly charts first to see general direction and where price is in relation to the 2 emas. then the daily to see what the candles are saying to get a feel. then 4hr and finally the 1 hour then as bigalow says the lower time frames and then use 10 min and 5 min. This works really well on ftse 100 and forex. For scalping on forex I only use 1 min no stop loss and go in for small number of pips maybe 5 or 6 at best at £100 a pip. Can usually make £500 within the first half hour of trading sometimes in as little as 10 minutes. Then quit for the day. This latter is very manual, no distractions got to be in a good place within myself and requires concentration and quick fire reactions. Everyone has their own methods and have to be comfortable with them. For share intraday I work off the 5 and 10 minute charts but occasionally check the 1 minute and 15 30 and 1 hour during the day to see the bigger and smaller pictures. If taking a medium term trade I use the daily to make decisions for up to 5 to 10 days trades. For intraday one must also check to see if any news is due that day interest rates economic news and for forex the same especially never trade at 13.30 on the first Friday of each month as us non farm payroll data comes out then resulting in very wild spikes in either or even both directions very rapidly. Some have perfected ways of trading them but I stay away as have got burned a couple of times and of course it has nothing whatsoever to do with candlesticks and the T line. I still consider I am a student in a learning curve and no one should follow what I do. Just keep watching and re watching Steven Bigalow's webinars. There is of course money management and risk reward to master, having a trade plan in place before pulling the trigger, the discipline to stick to the plan. I always keep a journal for each trade I make recording the rationale for making it, the plan and why it failed or succeeded. It is not easy and should be treated as a business. I concentrate on minimising losses first then look at the reward. If risk reward is not worth it I let it go. Hope this helps and not too waffly. btw my fitbug punt got taken out with just over £50 loss but I'd rather have several small losses than a big loss by holding a losing position.

Eureka. It worked. Commentary and explanation on CNEL. Unfortunately this share was brought to my attention by a Mr Banana on the Fitbug chat board on the 25 November when the train had left the station and price was @ 3.35p. However if it had been brought to my attention when price had closed above the T line (ema set @8 blue line),which is one of the main purposes of this chat board, one will see that one could have got in at more or less the bottom the beginning of the white candle on the 23 November @ 1.625. If one had then set stop profit limits @ the amateur third rate fundamentalists and ramper's targets of 5, 6 and 7, when price opened @ 5 on the 4 DEC some if not all one's positions would have been taken out and one would have some nice juicy cash sitting in one's bank account. If only the 5p was taken out one could have closed any remaining positions during or at the end of the 4 DEC as a candle stick formation known as an engulfing candle had formed giving a very strong signal and probability that if price opened below the closing price the next day then price would continue lower. Also price had advanced way ahead of the T line indicating that price would recede and profit taking set in. Another sign was that price had closed below the 3 ema line an early warning that sentiment may have changed meaning sell not buy. Fear has now set in and price gaped down on open on the 6th and not higher a strong signal that price would continue to fall which it did and continued to fall yesterday and will probably continue until sentiment changes and buyers come back in force for price to close above the T line making the share a POSSIBLE buy at that stage. Please note that price fluctuates during the day but as long as price closes above the T line and 3ema there is no need to close a long position as the chart clearly shows. All the professional investors use charts to assist with their investment decisions so why not follow them rather than take heed of the third and fourth rate aspiring ignorant amateur analysts and rampers that pollute so many of these boards and then blame imaginary shorters and conspiracy theories to explain the falling share price. The ignorance of these people beggars belief. P S.On a superior chart e.g. IG's it would have been possible to get in @ 1.375 on the 17 October. I like this share and fundamentals look good but as for putting a fair value on it it's anyone's guess until more fundamental financial information becomes available. Follow price and the T line to give one an edge in making decisions.
