brom - "seem to remember more than a few dissed MW93's post(s)". There will always be a few sceptics on this BB. But from my perspective MW93 has always been a trusted poster and thank goodness he was able to give feedback from the horse's mouth so to speak which was in reassuring terms. Some of that info could have been RNS'd eg the minimal dilution bit. If he was prepared to say that to a private investor then it would have been in full knowledge that it might be spread elsewhere.

Anyhow, time to draw a line under this and move on. COY 88e!

MW93 I should have said

cat - the end justifies the means eh. It took the endeavours of CW93 to find out from DW what was actually going on. That steadied the ship here.

AIM4 - yes you are right. AST launched on PB after markets closed on Friday and deadline was Sunday. Markets reopened on Monday morning as usual. Very efficient.

What I didn't like with the 88e dilution was the uncertainty created by the RNS of 22 January where we had no idea about the amount of the placing or the likely discount. All we got was:

"88 Energy Limited (the "Company") announces that its shares have been placed in a trading halt on the Australian Securities Exchange ("ASX") pending the release of an announcement in relation to a potential capital raising.



The trading halt will remain until the earlier of an announcement to the market regarding the above or the opening of trade on ASX on 24 January 2020 and the shares in the Company will continue to trade on AIM during this period."

The London market was effectively hung out to dry hence the fluctuation in SP on the 22nd. Pretty unsatisfactory from a London PIs point of view.

LeM - As I say the company could have used Primary Bid to raise the funds. This is efficient and quick - I have used it before with very early deadlines of 2 days just like this.

DW could have used Primary Bid - I am sure a lot of PIs would have warmly embraced the chance to take shares at 1.1p.

As there was an unsolicited approach DW could have just said "buy in the open market"

Dilution minimal and hopefully not too much angst given share price has doubled since the last placement. '

Tsbs - "it was unsolicited". That's what the RNS said and so I am more inclined to believe that than the poster from hotcopper who said Hartleys were doing a bookbuild, ending today at 4pm ie now (if UK time). If it were a bookbuild that would imply more than one investor getting onboard. The RNS gives the impression that it was from a single entity - so why the need to pay mega sums to Hartley for a bookbuild. Something doesn't sound right. But WTFDIK.

jiddy - the RNS does NOT state it's a small capital raise. Stick to the facts and read in between the lines

Hi WA - I am a Londoner by birth now retired in the Gloucestershire countryside. My daughter in law is from Perth so this year we had our first aussie Christmas, joining her parents for a couple of days. Great to see what they have done with Elizabeth Quay - this was just at the planning stage last time we were there. I bet those quayside apartments are expensive. And I guess I can forget about staying at the Ritz Carlton!

WA agreed - just back from Perth which was relatively unaffected. Skies were dark on one day when we were down in Margaret River but fire soon brought under control. Followed all the local news from the east side - fires were brutal. So hope none were started deliberately. As you say fire crews are exceptional. Good to see Shane Warne got a million bucks for his cap which he is donating to the cause.

Market cap of £96m at 1.4p. Maybe the next step up, to 3 digits, is making some people stop and think.

Good morning all. Just back from 5 weeks in Perth visiting aussie relatives. Seems I should go away more often as price when I left was 0.95p. When 88e moves it does so quickly which is why shorting this month, in particular, is a mug's game.
