Jtd, I wasn't aware of the availability of theses rigs. However, if we have to wait for our partner to source one then the point I was trying to make is the timescale. Are there rigs that are available big enough to undertake the task? Is this the reason why they are not being utilised.

Big smoke, I guess all the available rigs in Colombia are already contracted as the country ramps up production on the back of better oil prices. I would think that a drill company will have to acquire one due to demand and then release it for tender. I also monitor the tender tab on the ONGC site, things don't happen quickly. There is a protocol they have to follow before awarding contracts. Remember our partner is government led and has to be seen to be above board and fair.
However, if AMER sourced one directly then I cannot see ONGC turning it down. I would be more than happy with a second rig but I cannot see a third any time soon.

A timely RNS would be welcomed. 32m shares needed to trigger one if it's a new significant holder.

Baysil, I think drill companies scaled back when PoO hit the lows in the previous years. Clearly securing another rig is potentially a game changer. Not sure if the political situation n Ecuador presents an opportunity for the company. Colombian government eager to boost output again and generate income.

Either that or a new institutional investor. 10.5m traded today. 36m acquired shares before the obligatory holdings statement. Positioning going on here imo. Whatever opinions are someone is buying and happy to do so. Including those in the know as the Directors have shown.

Not forgetting JW investor presentation today that will attract some interest.

willec, there is clearly a buyer. Only difference between an institution and a private investor in terms of financial commitment is the money we invest is ours. Investors sell for many reasons, rebalancing their portfolio, better returns elsewhere, capital needed for other opportunities. I won't insult your intelligence but everyone has a reason to buy or sell.

We have all probably held shares and sold for any of the above reasons only to watch it double in price not long after. That is why there is a market.

I think with Amer investors naturally look at the share price and use that as a 'yard stick' in judging the company's performance. I know we will never get answers but there is clear manipulation occurring here. Similar pattern again today, no doubt we will get the flurry of small sell AT's at the close. This is not occurring for the benefit of pi's but for institution's in the know. Too many positives now with this company, even with fluctuating oil prices. Imo, positioning going on here, hopefully that will change soon. At some point, those investors will want a reversal of the trend when they cannot buy any more at bargain prices. Ind-1 and director buys caught the market off guard, only a matter of time before something else comes along. Updates on Recent drills, further director buys, new institutional investor or announcements from one of our partners. This is as good as it gets in this sector, but don't make the mistake that the sp is this low because there is something we have missed. Cash in bank and other assets make this a ridiculous valuation.

Ade, just noticed the 500k trade earlier this afternoon. Someone is mopping up these shares and imo it's not pi's.

Ade, I would guess RH is still off loading his remaining shares. If we hadnt had the Ind-1 news then I would guess the sp would be sub 9. Ignore the games, fundamentals improving here and wouldnt suprise me if we looked overvalued as our seller moves on and we get some more news. Imo, the current trend could look like a gift in 6 months.

Summarises what we all know but it puts a compelling case to argue our 'out of sync valuation. Our cash position alone accounts for 20% of the MC. Any offer below 35p would be an insult to lth's. Lots of trigger points in the next few months that could be the catalyst to a substantial rerate. False picture being painted here for the last couple of months. The reversal will come.

eljot, from half yearly report in June, cash was 10m with a continued reduction of costs. Revenue was up and likely to achieve profit this year with the additional contracts. Cash burn was lower so hoping that trend continues. All eyes seem focused on getting Flu -5 to market as this seems to be the game changer for the company should a deal be finalised and remove any doubts on funding of a Phase 3 trial.
