Morning C7. One thing I have learned as an investor in biotech companies is the Directors do not care about sp performance. That is until they need to raise further funds then the news flow becomes a little more fluid. These guys are focused on the science and getting their discoveries recognised. Of course getting it to market after approval will benefit all but in the mean time investors are at best an inconvenience. Investors are a necessity to be tolerated.

It would be nice to see some sort of strategy to support the share price but I would be amazed if they implemented one. For me, I never focus on where the price is and how much money I have invested. I remind myself why I invested in the first place and hope those reasons come to fruition.

Only my view of course but when you see other biotech MC being eroded away without a word from the BoD's it does make you cynical.

willec, longer we wait more chances of Cal-1 Being good news. Cannot see ONGC in any rush to update the market until they are happy with the evaluation. This potentially is a big deal for AMER but not necessarily so for our partner.

willec, the shorts fell from 12.5% and the sp rose from a low of 112 to 152. Still being shorted but the fundamentals were so good they couldn't keep it so low as I guess it risked a bid from another party. Cash in bank, good revenue and diversification away from retail. Not too dissimilar to AMER.

Austin, just my interpretation of the rules but from memory the EU promised to regulate short selling but have failed to do so before every election. I have come to the conclusion that it benefits the chancellor and the EU to allow it to continue at the expense of the pi. Stamp duty and broker fees generate income.

I don't mean short selling, no rules on that but using bots could be seen as gaining an advantage over other investors.

Austin, the rules already exist as it gives an investor an advantage and is not fair to other investors. Out at the moment so cannot get the exact wording. The problem is the FSA that fail to act. Last year I was in PETS and the sp was similar. Being held down falsely by the bots enabling the shorts to close positions.

I agree but not 100/1 as it would be too pricey for private investors. 10/1 I guess you meant?

willec, nothing you or I can do about it. Until the people responsible for introducing the 'bot' removes it then we are spectators. The balance will be tipped in our favour and I guess many investors have taken advantage of buying at these levels. Reserves and revenues will increase this year, just a matter of being patient.

Willec, institutions have a completely different approach to investing in comparison to numpty's like you and me. They make decisions on a broad number of circumstances. It could be based on sector analysis, political, fund managers, timescales....

Littlepost, imo it is positioning by the institutions.. looks like we have/had a seller and with all these ATs looks like we have a buyer. The trend will break.

Going, the company acting CEO made a statement in relation to a partner deal being close and taking Flu-v to stage 3. He was also saying that the third party would be experienced in taking it through P3 and funded by them...

The expectation is the deal will materialise. The frustration is when. I am happy to stay put and see how this develops as the P11b trials were so compelling.

I cannot see 2 major shareholders who have almost 60% of the company not doing their due diligence before building up their position. I think the contracts and other compounds in development are being ignored with all the focus on this 1 drug (for now)

I would prefer the share to be undervalued at this time going into the drilling campaign. It gives investors an opportunity to buy at these levels with a good risk v reward ratio.

Gary, bit harsh. Baysil posts are well researched and informative. If that is your perception of the lse member then he has done a poor job of 'ramping up the price'.

In any case if you think the content of the posts affects the sp then your deluded.

willec, I think it is Sunday for TD, but as you know it could be a straightforward drill without any issues or have encountered problems during the process. Then there is the evaluation, personally, I am expecting news in the second week of March.

Not trying to defend the BoD's but from experience in other bio's , namely IMM, SCLP, MTFB and AGL directors of these companies very rarely buy shares. They seem to have a different 'mindset' to those director's in other sectors. I know those mentioned companies have performed very badly in respect of the current sp. but all have been very much higher than today's close in the past. What I will also say, is that they all seem to treat shareholder's with contempt and will only engage with PR when they need to raise funds. They seem more focused on the science rather than the business which is frustrating, especially when that science is proven.

If they have to take Flu-v through to stage 3 themselves without a partner then I suspect the current attitude to shareholders will change. Only reason I can think of a news blackout are non disclosures.

Jersey, posted same last year. These guys are clearly very clever and have a proven background. I also found the background of Gregory Stollof very interesting too. Connections to Deutsche Bank and GSK. Now it is about making a ground breaking discovery into a commercial success for the j/v and shareholders. Most of which have a much higher average than today's price.

It will come.

I'm hoping it is on going negotiations. Maybe a nondisclosure contract. Nothing to really discuss that has already been discussed but still confident value will be unlocked. Reminds me very much of the 3 months prior to Flu-v results. Frustrating but typical bio public relations or lack of it.
