Reading that Allkem in Aus are predicting a price increase of 80% for Li Carbonate in the first 6mths of this year. $20,000 a tonne. Mind blowing if it does. US car manufacturers announcing their commitment to building EV's adding further supply concerns.
Also noticed that Serbia have rolled back a little from their concerns over mining of Li. Now saying that they will make a decision post election. At $20,000 a tonne it won't stay in the ground for long.
What a great opportunity for the pi's willing to sit back. This sector, ZNWD or otherwise will be potentially life changing for some.

I assume M&G PLC are new significant shareholders. Not a previous holding shown on the RNS. Have they been accumulating since the placing. Will be interesting if they will continue. Not many more shares to take them above the 4% threshold.

Absolutely. I thought the government had already recognised that. Ridiculous price but I suspect like me for now, many investors are not risking their cash based on loose tongues.
Complete madness. The country and its currency needs foreign investment. Idi Amin made the same mistake many years ago.
Massive potential for investors Mullins. Especially those getting in early. Full ask being paid at the moment on the majority of buys so hoping for a push above 22p this week. Guessing the private investors in here now are more long term holders after the profit taking we saw last week.

I fully agree. If you have the time or inclination to read the ZNWD bb last Thursday then you may understand what prompted my impromptu post on the BHL
Goolang was suggesting that the reason ZNWD were down last week after a 30% rise was because investors were moving their cash here.
A stupid comment given that ZNWD had risen from 13p to 21p and any drop was clearly profit taking.
Wish you atvb and fellow private investors a handsome return in BHL
EU meeting in Lens at the end of the month. Maybe legislate to allow Europe to exploit it's reserves in Li as a result of the Chinese domination.

I see Liontown resources have agreed a deal with a Korean battery maker LG Energy. Smart commercialisation of a project in Australia by a company that has not even 'broken ground' Battery manufacturers are trying to get ahead of their competitors as supply concerns continue.

Thanks castle
was reading this article today which was prompted by concerns over China's world dominance in producing batteries. Some points have already been covered already but it highlights the potential here and the obvious undervaluation of our MC.

Nothing we don't already know but without the supply the EV revolution will be about the companies who can secure a supply. Pure economics dictate that Li prices will continue to rise.

I'm not saying HOC is a bad investment, in fact at this price quite the opposite but for now the risk v reward is not at a point I would be comfortable with. Maybe as the year progresses and further statements are released by the government then I will change my opinion on the risks with HOC.
Of course, if the PoG starts to spike then this could be a great investment at this price with a short term view.
On a personal level, I sold all my holding on a stop loss and used the funds to buy ZNWD at 14p. I used the time to research and look for value. Thankfully back in profit with my pf.

I invested here having thought the political noise was over. At the time the government recognised the importance of foreign investment.
I took a substantial hit here and have only just managed to get my pf back into profit for the year.
I don’t like the idea of HOC being ‘at the mercy’ of men who do not understand the possible ramifications of speaking without thinking. Wow, if I was a minister in the Peruvian government then I could make a killing playing the markets. :)

Don't know what your agenda is here as I'm sure the majority of investors know the risks and have done their due diligence. Technology is always evolving and new ideas make some redundant. I'm sure when steam engines were first used on ships there were engineers saying that the age of wind is now over. Of course we now know a century later that the opposite is true. Whether you like it or not, car manufacturers have invested billions into Li battery technology. That for now and certainly in my lifetime be the future for the Automobile Industry. You would be stupid to think we are not at the infancy stage at this present moment in time. The lifetime charging cycles will improve not forgetting storage capacity.
I read this week that a company has found a way of resurrecting 'dead' Li batteries. A massive advancement in this sector. The company states that it can increase the lifetime of a battery by 30%.
My point is, the case for Li batteries in the automobile industry is improving all the time. No doubt as I have already posted that the majority of investors here have done their own research. They will re-evaluate their position based on their own research and personal circumstances. I am sure some vehicles will be powered by PV panels too but looking out across my garden and seeing the rain my trip to the supermarket would have to wait until sunnier days.

Also to add. The bicycle industry is being overlooked by many Li investors. The demand in that sector is reported to put the price of Li under further pressure. As supply cannot meet current demand your posts on the ZNWD bb are really pointless.
