Why? It's got nothing to do with THG. MM owns the investment and THG are on the lease. It actually doesn't matter who owns the investment. I would have though MM trying to sell and get cash in, would be positive for shareholders because he's doing it for a reason and that might be to make a move or buy more shares, who knows?

My gut feel, at the time, were that these potential offers were Micky mouse and were put out there to try and draw a real bidder out. I dismissed it because I really thought MM had had enough of the city and wanted out before he gave up his golden share. Should have realised when the sp didn’t really get anywhere near £1.70 on the news, that it wasn’t going to happen!

Thought a lot of it was positive until his final rant over the FT - Sort of spoilt it a bit for me!

We go round and round in circles discussing possible problems with the business. At the end of the day, this just doesn't make any sense with Chairman's buy. He's nobody's fool and wouldn't just throw £1m (or a large proportion of it) down the toilet.
