It’s a fair question which I am only able to answer with broad brush strokes. Budge is privy to more than me or you, so should be better equipped to break this deadlock than us.
Baylan needs to be exposed as the charlatan he clearly is. As minister for enterprise and innovation, he is clearly in dereliction of his duty to his brief.
He is personally responsible for deciding the Kallak issue according to published mining legislation. The permitting process is specified in documents used as a legal template for the permitting process.
Additionally, Baylan will already have one eye on the next election and his next ministerial role.
Budge needs to show Baylan is incapable / lacking in credibility both personal and professional now to make him doubt his own ability to sustain / progress his political career.
From a positive viewpoint, Baylan must be convinced the granting of the license is something down the line reflects well on him in terms of economic regeneration of a declining local economy, innovative green mining practices and billions of extra tax revenues.
It is time for KB to stop whimpering in the rhododendrons - apologies to Betjeman.

I am not the CEO of BEM pulling £3k a week plus share options. In my opinion, he needs to show value for his personal drain on investors hard earned. long overdue.

i will be annoyed if tomorrow is just another whining session from KB, regurgitating his past dozen or so interviews.
Rather than stating what the government hasn't done, it is high time he told investors and the wider arena what he is actually going to do about the interminable and horrifyingly damaging torpor of this situation.
Nothing less is acceptable any longer.

Baylan is certainly as snug as a bug in a rug in his comfort zone. Sadly, so is Budge.
Both happy to keep taking the money and knocking off early. My suspicions about Budge losing interest were confirmed when the drillin at Kallak was called off for Covid related reasons. In such a wilderness, that was clearly utter nonsense.

You are beginning to realise that Budge has no strategy. Sitting on your hands and waiting is not a strategy.
The occasional whining letter to Baylan does not even register.
He needs to fight politics with politics. This has never been about the law, which the swedes keep at arm’s length by implacably refusing to engage.
Only one thing bothers Baylan - his job and his cosy superannuated existence.
Budge must dismantle his credibility in any ways possible including the legal route.
The legal route may be lengthy, but the current situation is eternal.
Simply opting for the legal route would see Baylan crumble, in my opinion. We have p,entry of evidence that he, and all his government cronies have no stomach for a fight.
Timing is everything, and right now, the Swedish economy is in a tailspin. They need projects like Kallak on stream ASAP.

It is a chronology of failure and inaction.
Your belief that there is plenty to be excited about amounts to some sort of personality disorder for which I would recommend professional help.

2. Drilling at Kallak. Cancelled. The Covid story is nonsense. Drilling is in the middle of nowhere and is carried out by a machine. The drilled cores then need cataloguing and storing in crates for transporting, all of which requires minimal manpower. Social distancing not an issue.
Your CEO is ineffective. You should be asking him some fundamental questions about his grip of the Swedish government's woeful lack of engagement in their own process.
Or are you content to witter on like a women's institute meeting for ever and a day?

My opinion of Budge has changed from respect to cintempt over time.
He has failed miserably and has taken almost 6 years to do it.
Like all the other failed CEOs he is determined to prosper from his failure and the misplaced loyalty of investors.

Budge needs to get a grip and earn his bloody salary. It seems he's thrown in the towel and is content to pick up his over generous salary for doing nothing.

Today Finland announced it is opening 7 of the 8 borders. It’s border with Sweden is to remain firmly shut for the foreseeable due to it’s grave and deteriorating Covid 19 situation.

In a country with such a fragmented political landscape, dependent on fragile and largely unworkable coalitions and alliances, the idea of there being an opposition is tenuous at best.

The KU investigation, like all such enquiries, will be a whitewash. The people conducting it are in the same club and cut from the same cloth as all swedish bureauctats and piliticians like Damberg and Baylan.

They show no appetite for such action. Shocking. Budge has to throw a grenade in.
