Hello Mush...Like you i recently returned to the UK, after spending 5 months in beautiful SW France. I now live in S W Wales, however, I spent nearly 20 years living in Stroud... I read your 8th May message where you wrote about not understanding how the GGP share price has fallen from its recent highs to its recent 20p ish lows.. Whilst, I am no expert, as I believe there are no experts as if that was true, we would be able to predict the future..Anyway, for what it is worth my view for the recent falls, is that all markets are readjusting to the last few years of the bull run where markets seemed to move in one direction. IMO, we are in what I call the 'catching the breath phase ' where the market , takes the opportunity to flatline, before deciding what its future direction is...and currently, IMO, the market is looking forward to the end of the year, where I believe the UK economy and others might falter. Of course all of this may be wrong but despite the billions that households have saved during lockdown ( up to £200 billion is an estimate) I am not convinced as some have predicted that households will spend what they have saved, as overseas travel is becoming difficult, expensive and too much hassle and coupled with our depressing weather , individuals just might keep their money in their bank accounts, or buy a nice new car or cheaper home in a sunny climate, such as Portugal or France.
Therefore, IMO all shares are held back in this catching a breath phase and that includes our GGP. however, if we look at the last few weeks, where fallers outnumber risers, GGP is showing consistent strength in a falling market... and that indicates to me the strength of GGP.
GGP is the largest holding in my portfolio and in all the time I have been a shareholder, I can truthfully say, from the day I bought in a 6p to today, I have never ever doubted that GGP will be the best share I will ever own. It has not risen the most, fallen the most or filled me with shock at the performance of the BOD, the RNS issued, bullshxt written, etc. In simple terms, GGP is the ultimate share to own and I truly believe, in due time everyone who holds here will in the future learn a most invaluable lesson ..and that lesson is that once you have found a share like GGP, relax, do not doubt your original decision when the fundamentals are strong. The world is not minting gold , as it has to be dug out of the ground first and the number of gold mines of the size of Hav, are, rare, so Mush relax, we are on a sound footing to our prosperous future and the prosperous future of our children and immediate family. Finally, if you are in stroud, I would love to meet up with you.Best wishes. LP
