The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
FUT1A,
GREAT post and I think all Newbies to GGP and investing should read, digest, and learn from your post, as it contains so much useful advice.. I could not put all my money into just one share, even if it was as good as GGP.. Like you II have spread my money amongst a few shares but not one has delivered the returns of GGP..I initially rejected the chance to invest in GGP at 6p..but I did buy some from 8.8p (just 13,515 shares only), as I was doing everything I could to expedite a transfer of my pension from Prudential to a SIPP with HL...it took a month, and by that time I had to pay 11.8p for each share...and I have bought all the way up to 23.8...today I have just under 300,000 shares, not an enormous amount compared to some on here but I am happy because I am neither greedy nor willing to go 100% in any share. I admire those with 100% conviction but the money in my SIPP is my pension and 40% of my SIPP is with Fundsmith equity which has done well for me, with an average return of about 18% since I invested with them.. Of course Paddy, Hydro, Bamps, Mush, and others are always worth reading and learning from and the guys on here are brilliant in the way they share their knowledge..Fundamentally, GGP is now the most valuable share in my SIPP and I am in no doubt my SIPP will burst through the lifetime limit allowance pretty soon, as some of the other 6 conviction holdings I have, will I believe do what they were bought to do...However, as I write this nothing comes close to GGP and I know, shares like GGP are shares of several lifetimes, so I am grateful for the holding I have, albeit, once my other convictions holdings, start to deliver, I will sell some of them and buy more into GGP, even if GGP is at a higher level; noting, of course, there will be a retracement with GGP sooner rather than later, as no share ever goes up in a straight line...Of course, I have had other success, none more so than SNG, which went up over 500% on manic Monday on 20th July.
As you suggest, the current price will be a distant memory but IMO, the recent increase this week is an indication that the results we are expecting on Monday, is already priced into the current share price...Has there been a leak?, I do not know but sensitive news does get into the hands of those influential people, such as Blackrock etc because their contacts are everywhere. Nonetheless, we all have very sticky hands in the main here and that will allow the price to continue its slow but steady rise in the weeks, months, and years ahead.. Remember, all of those with a SIPP have a fair degree of flexibility, with their SIPP money, as you can use your money to buy commercial buildings, classic cars, office blocks, hotels, pubs, etc etc ...I sold an office building which I owned and rented to my company via my SIPP...that was a poor investment but I did get what I paid for the building after using it as my office and that money is what I am using to buy my shares in GGP and others .
DestinyAngel...Well done on you..I am no expert but I have been in business for myself for 40 years...The best bit of information I can pass on to you is this:.
You will not find an IFA easily; and with your gain, you need an accountant, as your future will not be what it is today...Any half-decent accountant is better equipped than an IFA and like most accountants, they will be conservative. You have done all the hard work now get an accountant to help guide you and the money you pay any half decent accountant will be money well spent because if GGP does what we all believe it is going to do, your financial future is assured. I wish you every success. LP
Hi Intrepidinvestor..I appreciate your advice, as I am certain what you say is correct. I have bought more shares at under £1 and agree with the sentiment you have expressed and for that I am grateful to you. I originally bought into TILS for the non covid stuff and because ,my wife has IBS and many of her friends have had breast cancer and she has a nephew who she adores who has MS.... I feel better by the RNS today . Fate has allowed me to buy in at a price I never ever imagined we would see again and for that I am delighted..Thanks.LP
Sirazkhan39.. I read your posts with great interest and your recent post about TILS in 2017 was excellent..Like you I am still here and whilst I have to say I bought in at too high a level and have been at a loss for all my time here, I have ultimately decided I will stay for the long haul. Your posts have been both educational and reassuring, not just to me but I suspect many others....The events of recent days will be looked at as a blip on the road to profit. I know it is easy to read about sitting on your hands and away from the sell button but I have sold others shares, which have stood up well in recent days, ,to improve my average here and with other Pharma/Covid related shares, as clearly despite the vaccine news, nothing has changed. Thanks again.LP
Hi. As a LTH here I am about 41% down...but its got to the point now where to sell out simply does not make sense. The interview on Bloomberg where the financial market was told about an exciting trial for CV with ..wait for it, 36 patients, was frankly pathetic..36 patients just does not show lack of ambition, instead it shows a complete lack of business planning from a company that is going to potentially change the world. I really do believe in this company and like many here have no idea what the market value of Accustem will be, but at the moment I do not care, as it will be a bonus at some point in the future. I invested here because of what TILS will be in the next few years not the next few months..Believe me, I was tempted to get out when I was 7% down but now I am in for the long haul.. I really do long term we will all look back at these sobering days and learn from them but right now as for so many of us we, are trying to find reasons to be cheerful
I have been an investor for over 35 years and all I know is this...amazing profits come to those who undertake quality research, sit on their hands and totally ignore all that white noise..its that white noise that forces the uncertain, unhappy, or desperate to press the sell button..We all have our goals but mine is now to see this through to end..wherever the end is.
I am no therapeutics expert like Shiraz39 and do not have a medical background but I never give up.Once I buy into a share, I know I have completed all the research I can and if that share goes txts up during my ownership, I sit it out until eventually, the market wakes up to the potential...I could be wrong and lose all of my money here, as TILS is the 5th largest holding in my SIPP...the top 4 are all in profit, so I can afford to lose 100% here..but I would only lose 100% if I press that sell button...In life I NEVER GIVE UP NEVER and despite the situation here I am NOT JUMPING SHIP, Its too late for that when you are 41% down.My message to you all , is keep the faith and weather the storm, eventually calmer seas will prevail and the blue skies will prevail and you will be richer and wiser.ATB.LP
Hello Mushroomkid..I am sorry to hear of your legal uncertainties in Portugal...I could write a book about buying property in Spain, especially Mallorca , where I used to have a substantial property portfolio..The most important lesson I learnt, was do not trust your first or even your second lawyer and even if a lawyer is recommended by a bank be careful..The best piece of knowledge I gained in finding a good lawyer in either Spain or Portugal(it is not easy) is to go to a lawyer and ask him who he would recommend to look after his estate if he was to pass away and needed his estate in good hands for his wife and family...Of course the lawyer you approach would tell you he is the best lawyer....but then go to the lawyer who your first lawyer recommends and ask him the same question....you will soon then find a lawyer you can trust..Hope this helps.LP..PS My first lawyer I was told was reliable and honest but after my 3rd property purchase he wrote to me telling me he was honest , and that I should ignore all reports that his 3 brothers who were convicted of fraud , were innocent...eventually I found my way to the nephew of my first lawyer and his brother, and they were honest.
Barnetpeter,
Please tell us all why you are such an idiot...I have a list of your predictions...most of them are like your dog....smelly.LP
Dear SWG..One online site that many local agents use is called GreenAcres..its like Rightmove or Zoopla but better..if I pushed you into an area look at the South West..west of La Rochelle and NE of Bordeaux...Angouleme and east of there is truly magnificent..and 2 hours to Paris on high speed train..Just hope this helps.LP
FC1865..So very well done to you and I am delighted to hear you are loving it...Keep enjoying.LP
LA..thank you and congrats..we escaped a month ago and it is wonderful.ATB..LP
Dear Mushroomkid and Mrs..I loved your reply and if you both enjoy the pleasure of getting the keys to your new home in paradise it will be a day not to forget...I genuinely believe GGP is a once in several generations shareholding but it will in the end to each of us be a piece of paper with our names on and a figure translated to a £ value..nice to look at each day perhaps but you cannot sleep in it, cook in it and enjoy it with your friends and family....However, a small slice of GGP for us LTH can without spending a fortune bring great contentment and happiness but for me, as we open the shutters each day , the real joy is watching the face of my beautiful wife, as she opens our beautiful Country house to the world ..that is priceless, yet none of our 20 or so friends who we know in the district have spent more than £120,000 on their little bit of paradise...we all laugh in the local bar , as we think of all our hard working friends on the 9-5pm treadmill in the UK...They can all get up and make the change and if they have a relatively small holding in GGP, can buy their bit of paradise, be it France, Spain or Portugal..Enjoy Mr 7 Mrs mush, you are my kind of people and I cannot wait for you both to inform us when you have the keys and the life changing hours thereafter for you to enjoy.LP
Tigg..I bloody love you...I agree with all that you say, as it would be a blast for all us GGP guys to have more fun on the ground..in Aus..as we know we are mostly all of the same mind set..I am with you all the way to Aus..LP
Hydrogen..As you like me are a GGP holder as well as 4D , I have been following you here whilst researching FOG..In a few simple sentences can you summarize your current view of FOg..because in my view the long term price of oil and gas is going to fall as Grren energy sources replace fossil fuels..Of course we will still need fossil fuel for a good few years yet but how long is changing by the day..Thanks .LP
Dear Mushroomkid...I enjoy reading all your posts as well as those from Hydro,Bamps & Paddy..But like you I was a Stroudie until I got divorced.. We all hope to make a good few quid out of GGP but some of us have a price when we can invest some of our profits in other assets to enjoy the fruits of our endeavours..You in my view are doing the right thing in investing in a country house in a beautiful spot in beautiful Portugal...we all only have one life and if we all held every GGP share forever, we would lead a duller life..I have invested some of my profits in a stunning country house in central France and the happiness it has brought me and my wife is beyond words ..I have read of UK guys here who are living in rented property because they believe after the stamp duty holiday , property prices will fall..I have been a property investor since 1987 and have a portfolio that provides me with a residual income , so large, I do not need to work..but I do work in my French home using the internet..With interest rates so low property prices will continue to rise and so will the price of gold..as Hydrogen showed with Pierre interview yesterday ..so if you are reading this and live in rented property good on you but with your profits from GGP you should in my humble view be investing in property in the UK and at the same time more should do what you are doing in Portugal..you are smarter than most as you and Mrs Mush already are finding out...you kindly told us where you are buying which is kind of you but the rise of GGP could lead to a boom in Aqua Bellas in Portugal....All our friends where we live in France no longer tell anyone where we are for fear of too many Brits coming here, as property is about 15% of the price of a nice part of the UK.....we love France as much as we love GGP but the french countryside is like no other and believe me I have seen a lot of the world.>Aussies are becoming big buyers in Central France as are Belgians..because with the virus they know where paradise is...Thanks again for all your common sense posts, I would love to meet you in Portugal when we are next in the area..we visited Vidago 3 years ago an dyou have to see it to believe it...I will hold my GGP for a long time but eventually I want to form a group where we all fly to W Australia to see our GOLd mines in operation ..I feel sure callum and GH will be happy to give us a tour for a fair price.>ATB..LP
WEDME..Your posting in the 5 parts is a must read for all investors here...I believed I understood all about SNG001 but your simple explanation is brilliantly clear and well written...I have a good sized investment here but the first thing on Monday I intend to increase my holding by 50% ..I bought in most of what I hold at 35p ish and now knowing so much more it is clear with SNG, we do not have a test, a vaccine or an approach..we have a wonderful product that is going to save millions of lives..Thank you again and so very well done to you.LP
Guys..This morning I posted that I thought we would see a price of £2..I am pleased to apologise and frankly admit I am surprised we only treaded water all day...though early this morning I thought we were going to fly...alas we started to fly but fell back to earth...I still believe strongly in ODX but as I have seen with TILS, Avacta, SNG and GGP..logic based on a RNS is of no use ..the market is more illogical than even the most optimistic of investors like me, despite unbelievable volumes of research undertaken..tomorrow is another day.LP
I understand £2 is an ambitious price but the price will not be related to what we received in the RNS yesterday..the value of the RNS will be greater than the value of the govt contract...do not get me wrong the contract is great but in the context of where this is going 175,000 tests is peanuts...its the millions of orders from world wide governments, companies, private hospitals in USa etc etc that will be the turbo to this share..Everyone will now want what our company has got...and we all own a little bit of a biotech money printing machine .Colin King probably has done a highland jig since yesterday in his underwear to celebrate his great news.LP
MAXPOWER..Congratulations to you on being so brave..I have had faith in ODX but not sure at my age I would be prepared to max out on just one share, albeit one good one....I hope you get maximum benefit from your decision, as I think most now probably under estime just what this great company can and will do from here..With UK govt approval where is the ceiling now?....Rarely do I predict a share price because as we all know .The stockmarket can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent, except now I expect from 08:01 today to see this BOOOOOOOOMMMMMM...I will be disappointed if we do not see a share price of £2 by the end of today as a minimum with the news we got at 4.45pm yesterday....If I was an outsider reading or learning about our news I would now think ODX have cracked it...Only 47 minutes to go.best to all LTH who stuck through the lows.LP
