They have a similar "head in the sand" attitude with current issues within their organisation.
They are breaking employment law regs by treating people differently, based upon age, gender, sexual orientation and ethnicity. They are hiding behind the positive action* of Equal Ops legislation and then when it comes to the "interview" enacting positive discrimination**. There's already a mass of claims building and we, the licence payer, will be shelling out for the BBCs lack of introspection.
Ten years down the line we'll see them trying to excuse themselves.
As you may guess iIm a fan of Thatcherism , where ones opportunities are based around a meritocracy, where no one person is advantaged due to their age, sex, gender, sexuality, ethnicity.
* Positive Action.. Taking steps to assist redressing imbalances of the past by ensuring those that were historically excluded are made ware that they are welcomed within the organisation.
