But the part I'm unsure of is how I crystallise the loss, as in what do I need to do with the untradeable and valueless shares that are just sat in accounts or on paper. Surely all the time I hold them I have not made a loss, even though they are untradeable and valueless?

I was in a share that was a "banker" that bombed in one day from about £2.50 to 8p.
I was out in the middle of the channel all day and out of signal. I came in that evening to dozens of "sell sell" messages. Alas, all too late :-)
I get that some may be over buoyed with what's happening with Eurasia, but I can't realistically see it bombing overnight, they have too many options, and the asset IS in/on the ground. Be nice if we could get some definitive news. But I guess they're not working just to please me! ;-)

I 'm looking for some guidance.
I have one share in my portfolio that was delisted a few years ago, it's s.p has recently been adjusted to zero. I have holdings both in a trading account and in and ISA.
As they are just sat there doing nothing with a nice red 100% loss beside them, how can I crystallise this loss to offset other CGT obligations?

Maybe they do many beneficial and positive things with their life, but were only able to because they had a high risk appetite that allowed them to get to that place? By keeping with that approach, they could continue doing great things for other going forward as well!

The rises in sp of the former were based on a drill campaign to show that the impressive neighbouring Algerian gas reserves extended into Morrocco. They didn't. You can only get so far on sentiment alone.
Eurasia's resources appear to keep increasing in magnitude. In fact, SOU and Eurasia are polar opposites in that respect. I wouldn't base my decisions on the performance of a do-or-die gas exploration company.

I get where you're coming from, but think of forums as an excellent tool for those with personality issues to vent their angst.
Admittedly many would not be capable of doing the same in the real world of face to face comms, but it is probably quite cathartic for them. Many won't have enough self awareness to realise that they are only harming themselves with their constant projection of sub-conscious pain, which , to them, further substantiates their tainted view of the world.
All we can do, is keep calling people up on their unacceptable behaviour.
