Hi Newbie,
I loved it, was there as a seventeen year old in late '83, brilliant times, not for all though as there was some harsh bullying for some. Went on to St Athens and then RAF Upavon. Remember puking over the dorm corporals feet when coming in rat arsed as a seventeen year old at St Athens, was bricking it for weeks thinking I was going to get thrown out :-)

We had the last flight of an RAF Vulcan for our passing out parade, before they were taken out of active service.
Sadly, RAF Swinderby is no more :-(

Is it too late to be put down for an after hours RNS today (17:29)?

As a kid at Christmas, my mum would put my presents in a pillow case on the end of the bed.
During normal days she would put my clothes on the end of the bed.
Sometimes, even in the middle of summer, i would wake up and feel a weight on top of my feet and get really excited Thinking it was Christmas day, only to look down and see my clothes. I carried the disappointment for at least half an hour.
It's much akin to my experiences with Eurasia, i know it's coming but every RNS, even though it' s communicating even greater potential comes with that childhood feeling of disappointment, if only for half an hour.

It is all taking a lot longer than many expected. However, the excellent news is the continual growth both of the company and the interest of prospective purchasers.
Anyone looking for millionaire status overnight could always try the euro lottery tonight. Only a 180 mill jackpot though ;-(

I'm sure everyone else will be big enough to respect the stance you are taking, even if they have a differing view.

My god, there's some ignorant people on here. A person's view is not a measure of their intelligence but more about their experiences that have shaped their views. These people are not good, they are not bad, just because their views don't align with your own.
I do one day of week voluntary work, that doesn't make me a good or bad person, or some kind of a hero, I benefit from it.
People have different views, can some not see the irony of the fact they are questioning others intelligence?

One of the problems is that most judge their current "success" in life by comparingthemselves to those around them. A good example is the definition of child poverty that is used, it has nothing to do with ability to keep fed, clothed, and warm, but is simply a threshold percentage of the average household income. I'm probably not alone on here in having a childhood with absolutely no material trappings, and being honest, it does make me bristle when i see people claiming poverty but with all the modern day trinkets. Unfortunately they are just a result of the society we, in the west, have nurtured. It's certainly not my definition of poverty, where we did go hungry and didn't have heating.
It's a pity we haven't got a system where the genuinely in distress get more benefits and the scroungers are filtered out.
Not sure we will ever get there, especially as we now live in a society where being a "victim" is a badge of honour, when we were young it was an embarrassment. Surely there's some middle ground?
