Looks like they sold for a third of pre war fair value. The million dollar question still is, what was/is our fair value.

To many on here ESG may be all fluff, but in the world of multinational investment funds it is front and centre. To lack cognisance of how vital this is a tad surprising. There's a brilliant book by Vivak Ramaswamy called "Woke Inc" that gives a great overview of the way ESG has permeated into global commerce. It may indeed be all b4ll, but think Black Rock.

You could look at it the other way around. Think back a year or so to the uber confidence displayed by our former CEO, that turned out to be a tad misplaced :-)

With this multi faceted approach POW is significantly undervalued, primarily due to the last two years of bear. Lots of signs of green shoots, even in light of increased global geopolitical unrest.

Glad you said it. The "earl" is a compete plank. Attempting to scare investors into buying in case they miss the boat. Also has an uncanny knack of doing extremely well in particular shares, always after the rise :-)

You're making me smile. I took a Masters degree in applied sedimentology back in the early 90s' . Half of the course focussed on basin analysis. Albeit that this was an academic course, your succinct analysis would have cut through much of the needless dross one was apparently required to learn before entering the oil industry :-)

Although off topic, I'd be interested in your views of the current situation regarding BOIL.

What gives me added confidence, not only of a sale that's not dependant upon the war ending, but that fair"ish" value will be achieved, is the network of affiliations that the bod have formed over decades with various Asian entities, not only financiers but established exploration and exploitation concerns. I've been mentioning it a bit lately, but the companies ESG credentials will be playing a significant role in potential value achieved. From a Russian perspective, the fact that NN already have infrastructure on the doorstep of Monchetundra makes the purchase of assets even more appealing as further investment beyond the asset purchase is limited

Its the company's ESG credentials that are paying dividends for them.

Maybe dividend was an untimely word to use :-)

"You don't know somebody until you've said no to them" is such a truism in life and as these forums appear to be a microcosm of life, there's no surprise regarding the way some behave.

In everyday life I often use the "no" word, even if i don't really mean it. It's such a powerful way of sussing character. The inner child in some cannot face up to things that do not go exactly as they want :-)

Essar appears to promote the same kind of ESG aspiration as Eurasia have displayed in Russia.

At the end of the day, the sale price will be what it will be. Personally I'm confident of coming away with a satisfactory outcome.

Yes GM, that was my point. It gives a context to the term "massive" when the share price was much higher. So even with the haircut, one can assume a still significant figure from where we are now. I've said it many times but remember, share price is not always an accurate indicator of true value.

Amers, Are you aware It's profit on an asset sale they spent twenty years developing. Maybe you invested for the year on year production figures?
