I can clearly see why this misunderstanding has happened as my post was missing a couple of important words and should have read “Probably someone just closing a short” ( My excuse is that I work nights so was a little tired!!) Thomas cook Actually own about 33 planes.The rest are leased for high season routes. They have not bought any new planes and the selling the airline business plans remain the same. To sell they have to ensure that it remains a going concern, also to look after the debt holders and share holders.It would be bad business to have the customers and no planes to put them on and equally to have them sitting idle in the off months.

It would have looked horrible being turned into one of these ridiculous pound shops.

Contrary to Daniel. you do not need knowledge to start on this path. You just need to read everything you can about your investment and never use these BB's for investment decisions. I lost here and I very much admire those that have a deep financial knowledge and got out in a timely fashion. I don't think I am thick, I am just not educated yet.

Jet 2 holidays are fine, no different to TCG. The main difference is when you just want to book a flight ,you think of J2, Easyjet and Ryanair, but not TCG. Maybe they should enter more into the cheap flight market as well.

Ivy. I may be wrong but to allay any confusion, I thought that TMP was developed by Roche and that Iclaprim By Motif.

Although the company say they focus on novel antibiotics Iclaprim is actally an optimised analogue of trimethoprim, so not entirely novel. I have no idea if this is significant though .

Meta. Not hypocritical at all. posting on a BB has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with whether we vote or not.
Some of us (like me) probably have no idea about the voting process. We buy our shares, hope for the best and once in a while have a bottle of good Champagne or a can of Tennents lager if things went Red.

I would have been thinking oblivion by now but the share price is not falling as expected and as a naturally positive relatively new and possibly naive investor in this old and once Great British institution. I hope that no news on funding is good news. However, yes the rats deserting is usually a sign of a sinking ship.
